Re: 8 cup finals

Do we deserve to stay up? Look at Morecambe league below us and in the relegation zone, there getting crowds of 3000 , ours are barely above 2000 . Sorry but with those attendances we don't deserve league status.

Re: Colchester Utd v Barrow match thread

Yes I stand in the popular side aswell and I sometimes get a bit embarrassed when I'm shouting and getting carried away, because nobody else does.

Re: Last League Cup match v Preston

Umbrellas? At the soccer?? It was 1971. I believe the lads who brought them in them were called: 'Brolly Boys' - a section of the Barrow Boot Boys. They were usually attired in Black Crombie Overcoats (red handkerchief nestling in the upper outside pocket), White Levi Sta Prest Trousers and Dr. Mar...

Re: Barrow v Walsall, match thread

According to AI, Carlisle population approximately 110,000, with average football attendance of 7482. Barrow population approximately 55000, with average football attendance of 3413, 7th best in league two. Seems about right. Just over 6% of both towns population going to the football. Where’s the ...

Re: Barrow v Walsall, match thread

Just read a Walsall fans comment, which said, how can we lose against a club with such small crowds, its embarrassing and such a shame for all the hard work being put in by the owners, management and players, the owners must be thinking what the hell are we bothering putting all this cash into a cl...

Re: Barrow v Walsall, match thread

Come on, you've got to admit our home crowds are pretty shocking, even the times we were in the playoffs we were only around 3500 and were not exactly close to other league clubs to compete against, crowd wise. Salford spent millions on a new stadium with a smaller capacity than ours. Sometimes you...

Re: Barrow v Walsall, match thread

Think carlisle fans have had alot more to put up with than ours, look at there fan base home and away. So, what do you think the crowd would have been roughly if we had needed the points yesterday to stay up? Come on, you've got to admit our home crowds are pretty shocking, even the times we were i...

Re: Barrow v Walsall, match thread

So we can’t go down and we can’t go up. And it’s the Easter break. And times are tight for most families. People make decisions based on their priorities not how well we are playing. Our supporters have had two halves of two seasons where our performances have been pretty miserable. Since Xmas 2023...

Re: Barrow v Walsall, match thread

That’s the idea, just keep going on and on and on about the attendance, try praising the club, the players the manager for once FFS. He's bothered about the club's finances without which you wouldn't have decent player's/ Manager and a smaller pool of money for next season! Correct, the lack of fan...

Re: Where Do You Come From Thread

Born in Barrow now living in Blackpool. My first game would have been in the mid 1970s as a kid, when we lived on Laburnum Crescent. We park over there on matchdays. I always like to look at the reservoir, I wrote a piece about the rezza and soccer that was published in a book. My mate Paul Moorby ...

Re: Barrow AFCv Carlisle United FC (H) match thread

Barrows population is around 65000 , but as I said if you include towns within about 12mls then that increases to about 100,000 .

Re: Barrow AFCv Carlisle United FC (H) match thread

But 2 of those teams are next door to some big teams, and Fleetwood has a population of only around 27000 and its close to Blackpool. We don't have any league teams anywhere near us.

Re: Barrow AFCv Carlisle United FC (H) match thread

I've mentioned this before, this is what's going to hold us back, there must be at least 100,000 population within 12mls of barrow and we get around 3000 home fans, am afraid that's not enough to progress this club. In my humble opinion we should be getting around the 4000 mark ,
