Re: Whing replacement?

Sir Alf Ramsey? Sir Bobby Robson? Sir Alex Ferguson? Take your pick... Even the best managers in the world can't transform mediocre players into world beaters. Or decent Division 2 sides. We have one of the worst teams I've seen wearing Barrow AFC colours. The problem doesn't reside with the manager...

Re: WHING HAS TO GO

If we sack Whing would Derek Adams be worth a punt, I know he's at Plymouth but he's been in charge of a club with restricted finances just a thought! What a ridiculous statement to make  Why would a manager in charge of a Division One club want to drop down a division? As for restricted finan...

Re: Oldham Ath v Barrow match thread

It's exactly the same as last season. Only 3 teams have conceded less goals than us but only 2 have scored less. We had the same problem last season with better forwards than we have now and I'm afraid it won't change without any new ones coming in. We don't really have one worthy of being called e...

They won't be too concerned regarding our second rate strikers, then :(
Spennymoor reached the Final of the FA Trophy last season.
With a vociferous North East crowd behind them they'll be confident of taking our scalp.
Remember Maidstone?

Re: Radio Cumbria

Further, l have a young grandson in Carlisle who loves football, so do l let him support his home-town team or direct him towards the higher-ranking team in the South of the county? Decisions, decisions. Do you really want to inflict upon him endless years of suffering? ;) Home town team first.

I watched the game. York City played some excellent football. On the day could have beaten many teams in EFL Div 2. Carlisle didn't play that badly. York were that good!
Good old Alex Newby!
Yes; I remember him playing for Barrow. He played well and scored. Is Elliot Newby his brother?

Re: Wild or Whing?

Ha ha i have no idea on that one as its subject to a legal NDA. All i detect from Wilds pre match interview the other week before we played Fleetwood was that he is still ver very bitter about what happenned stating that if he had stayed and signed a couple of players in his words “we would have fi...

Re: Blackpool (A)

I think it's time to realise that we're punching above our weight in EFL Div 2. Sack Andy Whing? No manager in the world can create a successful side if the players aren't good enough. We'll still have the same sh*t players. Sign new players in January? The BOD have already stated they don't have th...

Re: Rob Kelly.

Not entirely sure how I would feel about that appointment if I was AW not exactly sounding like a supportive endorsement from the BoD. Does feel like he's being a bit undermined to me and like others have said it does mean someone in the wings to take his job should it go pear shaped (not saying it...

I remember the two he scored at Bristol Rovers when we dumped them them out of the FA Cup in our Non League days.

Wild or Whing?

Fleetwood looked a good team yesterday. Well organised and played some decent football. Okay; I know we went down to 10 men but even so we looked the complete opposite. Pete Wild is obviously doing a good job for the Cod Army. I remember Pete Wild coming in for some flack on here towards the end of ...

Re: Barrow v Fleetwood Town match thread

Fleetwood played us off the park. They looked a well organised team and played some good football. Even if we'd had 11 players on the pitch I don't believe it would have made much difference to the outcome. We're looking like a team destined for one direction.
