WHING HAS TO GO

Post by blue nige » Sat Nov 29, 2025 5:02 pm

I'm sorry but this can't go on , we're only going in one direction here ,this isn't a kneejerk reaction, I like others have tried to support him but it's time for him to go !

Agreed. I think we have some good players but they are very much mis managed. We just look clueless, no plan. Reminds me of jolleys brief spell.

Is there a link to the gofundme page to buy out his contract?

Dunn doesn't seem to know quite what to do tactically, we don't have an identity or a style of play that was very clear under Evatt, in his first interview he wasn't very convincing when asked about this but cut him some slack as he may have been nervous and he had only just joined. I feel it has gradually got worse as the season has gone on from the Derby game onwards where we were well drilled and seemed to know what we were doing before picking up again more recently and then going four four [SwearFilter] two when we don't really have any wingers, hope we find a more coherent style for Crawley on Saturday, as many have alluded to the midfield seems to be the key issue here, we have issues transitioning from defence into attack.

This is what you said about Dunn ! Why is Whing any different to Dunn ? Oh forgot he's a really nice guy !

He’s a poor tactician and a poor communicator; l think his only hope is what value Neil McDonald can bring to the squad. We must trust the process - I’m taking it there is one of course.

Free shot next week but we need a result at home to Tranmere; willing to wait till after that to see if having another coach in brings any improvement

He's under some pressure at the moment and needs results but I wouldn't go as far as ripping it all up and starting again. We've done that plenty of times since we've been in the League and aren't any better for it, aside from a couple of good seasons under Wild (and even 50% of those were dire - but his departure has been done over enough). What's the long term strategy? You can't build a team if someone with new ideas is coming in every 6 months. We have been fortunate enough that previous changes have done enough to keep us out of trouble but the 'luck' so to speak will run out eventually. At some point we are going to have to stick rather than twist.

The thing I can't understand with our fanbase is that there seems to be an awful lot of confidence that the heirarchy will get the next appointment right, given 80% of the coaches they've brought in haven't lasted 12 months. For every Kelly miracle there's an impending Jolley disaster, it must have cost a fortune paying off these coaches.
Popular side since '03.

In our 5 and a bit seasons in EFL we have had 9 managers/coaches - and one manager/coach lasted a full two seasons. It's not a good look! The knee jerk reaction is to call for the manager to go whenever we have a run of bad games.

Whing has been unlucky that he has never really had a settled team, though he could be criticised for not developing a pattern or patterns of play that can be changed when the other team is dominating.. I get the impression that, over the last few weeks, after concentrating on keeping it tight at the back, he has wanted the team to get forward more and that has been to the detriment of our defending.

At the very least, we should see how things are at the turn of the year. Apart from Gillingham, the other 4 games are ones where we might reasonably expect a point or three. I do think that the players we have are good enough to get better results than they have been getting.

The problem being Whing hasn't brought in "new ideas ", it's keep it tight and then attack or go 1 up then keep it tight, majority of the time the football is dire no visible game plan and substitutions then sometimes don't make sense,so going by the performances we'll be relying on others being worse than us that's one precarious position to be in

Be good to hear Iain Woods thoughts on the season so far as well. Far to quiet.
