Good stuff.

Come on folks, get one opened...even if it's just to put your coppers in, every little helps.

I'll try & get down on Friday to open a couple. Do you need to make an appointment or is it just call in & open one?
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

No appointment necessary. If you go to the Dalton Road branch ask for Sarah G, she'll sort you out.

Can you open one from outside the UK ?

We still have an account at the HSBC in Barrow , but this is a pre existing account, we could maybe do a direct debit into the FBS ?

Could someone ask them for us pleaseeeeee...............another 5 accounts if its a goer ;)
At least Mad Russell can hold on to a lead easier than BAFC

Glad to see a few people opening new accounts. I have opened 3 recently. Very easy to do. go to any Furness Branch & they will be more than happy to open your account with as little as £1.

You can have more than one Bluebird Account in YOUR name.

Rather than having just one account you could have say 3 for example. 1 could be saving for a rainy day, another for your annual holiday while a third is for a new car or whatever.

Try to persuade all your family members to open an account.

If we can hit the target then the club will get anothet £4,000 in sponsorship from the Furness.

Surely between us all 200 should be easily reached, it must be less than 190 by now. A very simple and easy way to make £4,000.

Not only will it make £4,000 but the club will also get some extra interest from all these accounts next season. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Been meaning to get one of these for about ten years.

Gonna bite the bullet when the weather picks up.

A massive thank you to every one who has opened an account recently.

I am checking out the overseas thing - and will update numbers on here regularly so we can see as we near the 500 target that will see us achieve the next level of sponsorship.

There is no appointment necessary to open an account - just call in with ID and proof of address and it will be sorted.

Thanks again

Mike,

Unfortunately not, I have just checked with Sarah at The Furness, and they are only open to UK residents.

Sorry about that

For my mind its a decent idea, something I will ponder and consider, alas only if the rates etc are competitive though (which I haven't checked).

Sorry to put a spanner in the works but that's the way I work, especially when I am pondering on something for the kids to get their greedy mitts on later.

As an aside, are there any other products that the Furness offer that can be linked in this way to the club, savings accounts don't generally get the best interest out there, unless you are willing to move it around regularly-ish.
Education should be public not private, it should be open, accountable and answerable to all the community, pupils and parents.
