They have branches all over the NW Al, not just in Furness, hence the Prawn account.

I think I might have to come up early on Saturday and open a couple of new accounts.

I agree. As I always say to the chuggers "charity begins at Barra soccer".

Sorry to put a spanner in the works but that's the way I work, especially when I am pondering on something for the kids to get their greedy mitts on later.

As an aside, are there any other products that the Furness offer that can be linked in this way to the club, savings accounts don't generally get the best interest out there, unless you are willing to move it around regularly-ish.

Phil interest rates don't really come ito this senario.

All you have to do is open an account for each member of the family with a fiver or even as little as a quid. There is no compulsion to put any more into that account unless you want. If you opened up 3 accounts with £1 in each you will lose very little interest over the next few years on £1 in this account compared to the best anywhere in the country. You are talking a couple of pence max each year but you will be helping Barrow to get £4,000.

Yes £4,000. Simple now less than 200 people opening up with £1 earns Barrow £4,000.

All it takes is spending a few minutes of your time going to the Furness.

This is an excellent opportunity for every Forum member to do their bit with the minimum of cost to themselves but with the maximum benefit to Barrow AFC.

COME ON ALL,

YES ALL FORUM MEMBERS GET OUT THERE AND OPEN AN ACCOUNT.

IF YOU ALREADY HAVE ONE YOU CAN OPEN ANOTHER IN YOUR NAME.

I HAVE 4 ACCOUNTS ALL SMALL SAVING FOR DIFFERENT THINGS, HOLIDAY, CAR REPAIRS, CHRISTMAS and SAVINGS.

If we all do our bit the club will soon be £4,000 the richer. An amount not to be sniffed at. £4,000 takes a lot of raising normally by people like the BDF yet we the members of this forum together with members of the club can raise it in a very short time with minimum effort.

FURNESS BUILDING SOCIETY here we come should be the cry.

You only have to put a quid in and then forget about it. Nothing to ponder.

Aye, I had to explain a few times that it was the Barrow one I wanted, not one affiliated to the Dogworriers. :x

No I am NOT Sarah G whoever that may be nor am I am commission.

By another fan I was accused as being Shez!!!!!!!!

No just a fanatic fan who sees a simple & easy way to make £4,000 for our club in a short time and at little cost to the fans.

The fantastic fundraising through the sponsorship organised by Ste has cost the fans £2220 to give the club £2220 so far but if 190 fans opened an account at £1 a time then for £190 outlay by fans the club make £4,000.

Doesn't take a brain surgeon to work out it is an easy way to make £4,000 for our club!!!!!!

Spirit of 1990

Have you got an account????

If you have could you open another???

Can you persuade a friend, family member to open one?????

If we all do a little then the club can get a lot................£4,000 : :scarf:

No but someone who wanted to be one I think.

I'm grabbing one as soon as I can get my lazy arse to Poulton, which with no car is about as distant to me as Barrow, Alaska. Although this works both ways, as, if I go once a month to whack whatever in then I'll not be able to dip in and rob myself for a night out. I'll become a member too, although not sure how it works being 1) based in Blackpool and 2) 3 months from the end of the season. Don't particuary fancy knocking out £20 / £70 if I have to repeat the process in August. Ditto with NSC subscription. Not made a home game in about 7 years and don't really like being the armchair type, I felt guilty about going Sunderland and Wembley. Every little helps, right?
