Now I'm confused! What ever happened to the Plough Lane Wimbledon in that case I wonder? Were there three Wimbledons?Hadrian wrote:And for anyone still confused that is the Crystal Palace Wimbledon not the Kingston-upon-Thames Wimbledon.

Re: Barrow v Hereford Utd
[quote="ant"]It was definitely all about Barrows location.Close family friend was a director on the Bod at the time and was a very good friend of the then Man City chairman Peter Swales, who was canvassing to all in support of Barrow. Was in the bag for us.Hereford and their friends kept up with the geographical issue and turned it around. And bang. We were gone.Purely down to location in the end.And that's the truth of it.
Good point. A rumour circulating at the time was that the REFs 'had it in' for us because of the time and distance it took to travel here. Nothing changes,eh?
I remember crying when I heard the news (I was only a Nipper).
Don't hate any club but Hereford United come close!

Im only 26 so dont know all the history, i know we didnt finish bottom that season BUT shouldn't we be more bitter at the FL clubs who actually voted us out? rather than the team that replaced us?
Re: Barrow v Hereford Utd
TMK I was a 15 year old at the time and like many of my mates of that age tears were plentiful.Nothing wrong with that mate.

Re: Barrow v Hereford Utd
Anyway back to the game, what do we think the starting line up will be?
Anyone interested in some internet streaming of the game due to distance etc (no excuses if you can make it then get there), but http://www.thefirstrow.eu/sport/football.html is a decent streaming service all free, just wait for ad's to disapppear. Should be good

Cant watch this tonught as im still waiting for KC to put my internet on.
Re: Barrow v Hereford Utd
Only Division 1 and Division 2 clubs had votes in the re-election which saw Barrow voted out of the league. Divisions 3 and 4 had a block vote worth 4 votes. One division 2 club who voted us out of the football league was none other than Cardiff City!!!!
Re: Barrow v Hereford Utd
Simply that if Wigan are to be admired for how quickly they progressed, then it applies to Wimbledon even more so.The Poacher wrote:And your point is ?xerxes wrote: Wimbledon (the old Wimbledon, now known as MK Dons) actually progressed a lot quicker than Wigan.
