Its even got an interview with their manager on Sky Sports News!! This is ridiculous now like. 'A section' of the crowd he says!!!!

I can't believe the amount of bilge that's been posted on there forum.
I think Macclesfield will have to go on the clubs I like to dislike list along with Morecambe & Fleetwood.
There's even some Mac tool on the Cardiff Forum saying we're all racists now.
Brown got a lot of stick last night but the colour of his skin had nothing to do with it.He got called a soft [SwearFilter] & got booed. Mackreth & Kissock got similar treatment.

The BBC reports that Brown and his manager King heard someone (an individual) call brown a monkey as they came out the players tunnel on to the pitch. However, The Sun reports that several fans chanted and in the same item King says they were chants so it has changed to someone saying it to being repeated as a chant by several people. Meanwhile Macc fans claim to have heard it on BBC Cumbria, as the press box was packed with many members of the press from all over they clearly would have heard this. I've not seen it but as EHB says, the story is now that Sky News who have a TV interview with King the Macc manager, now saying it is a section of the crowd. Giving the impression that a large number of people were doing it. Now claims by Macc fan of monkey noises on highlights video. BBC Northwest tonight has just gone with King said that Brown was racially abused and left it at that. Followed by a short bit of Chairman Keen mentioning that it was put over the tannoy at the time and they will investigate as it is not acceptable.

As video footage and sound is taken from back of the main stand and BBC Cumbria is on the other side of the ground in an enclosed area, they are making out that a lot more than the individual first mentioned were involved. There was so much noise and people shouting different things when the booing was going on that I doubt monkey noises would have carried very far at all, they would have needed to be very close to the sound equipment to be made out. Unless Kings latter comments are true and it was a section of the crowd, but which section. There seems to be claims of it coming from 3 different parts of the ground, yet on here no one seems to have heard any of it. I heard no racist chanting from either end of the popular side in both halves, I changed ends at half time like a lot do but I stayed on the popular side terrace.
Am I right or is this story making itself bigger with each telling? If radio Cumbria have it recorded and it really is on the TV highlights then there is cause for concern that a large influx of spectators (I'll not call them fans) have tarnished our club. Given how the club has responded, I'm also prepared to believe that Brown (and maybe King) have heard what they say they have heard, but the rest shouts of sensationalist rubbish.
Brown sadly did make himself a target for abuse by almost pulling the shirt of Boyes in the box in the opening minutes and getting away with it. Then going to ground a few times with little contact. Faking injury and claiming to be fouled after being tackled on the ball, then getting up like nothing happened to complain to the ref. Their whole team played themselves constantly into trouble and they only have themselves to blame and faking injury and the like did not cover up how poor they were. They were very lucky. However, no matter how bad they are at playing football Brown and no one else deserves racist abuse.

I felt compelled to contact The Sun after that bloody ridiculous report & will happily edit & send onto any other newspaper who thinks its fine to make a poor attempt at journalism like that until it is actually PROVEN that someone made racist comments at the ground last night. Very angry - and if there was a racist at the ground I will be equally as angry with them. As I say below I was stood nearby the alleged incident and I would have, as I have done before, pointed out any muppets in the ground who would make such comments. There is no place for racism ANYWHERE, and equally no place for liars.

Following the publishing of your article "Race Abuse Hell for Macc Skipper" I felt compelled due to you pointing out in a further quote on your website that your "journalists strive for accuracy" - to contact yourselves and point out a number of inaccuracies with your attempt at a report on the events at last nights FA Cup match between Barrow AFC & Macclesfield Town.
Firstly I would like to point out I do not in any way condone racist language or behaviour and therefore believe you, as a national newspaper, most definitely have the right to publish and highlight to the public any matters involving such disgusting behaviour, be it at a football match, or any other walk of life - which, I am sure you will agree should not even be making it into the newspapers as it should most definitely have been stamped out by now.
However I would like to point out that I also consider one of a journalists main goals when reporting should be to ensure that those who are to read the articles are to be presented with truthful information, from which we, the reader, can then go on & form impressions on the importance of the matter. The 'news' which journalists should put into print should be based on fact and honest information - the legitimateness of which can be checked and authorised. I considered a journalists job in general to be to report news as it is; in a factual manner rather than in a biased or opinionated form - therefore giving us facts which have not been distorted in any way, enveloped in a well written article which has been well balanced to represent both sides of the story.
Also, I furthermore believe that as a journalist you should have the moral impetus to actually point out to readers that information you might have included in an article is actually unconfirmed - thus actually bothering to mark rumours and conjecture as such.
It is this last point that drove me to contact yourselves today. Returning to the article in hand I recommend you reconsider some of the 'facts' you have chosen to print. In light of the recent Leveson enquiry and the case of referee Mark Clattenburg having been falsely accused of racially abusing a player I find it highly unorthodox that you find it absolutely fine to point out that Mr Brown playing for Macclesfield 'was called "a monkey" by several Barrow fans'. This is a rumour. At the current moment in time neither club has investigated the incident - as I am absolutely positive in the future they both will, and therefore by printing this you are being, in my opinion, unethical and implying that Barrow AFC and its associated fans should be tarnished with reputations as being racist.

Some of the comments about the called off games are very poor. Buy pitch covers... what with? They seem to think we should have rich directors that have thousands to throw away on a pitch protection system and the like. We have lived in the real world of limited resources for over 40 years, outside the reach of football league TV rights and the shed load of sponsorship money to prop up football league sides. Yes we did have a fleeting moment with someone's borrowed money over 10 years ago and it almost cost us our club, it cost Chester City much more.
As for comments about Macc away support that seem to be cropping up. The number that was coming in the first place for the original fixture was going to be very poor to start with, for a FA Cup 2nd round tie anyway. Probably something to do with having played the likes of Swindon in the previous round and then a team below them in the table, does not match up to what people expect as a reward for beating such a team. Maybe Macc away support is poor in general, and it just thinned out even more, after all people did lose money travelling up the first time and the rearranged game was a Tuesday. Excuses of Barrow not being able to get the game on are garbage, believing the Macc forum hype more like. The weather knocked out much bigger teams than Barrow the other Tuesday and we simply had a picky ref the first time out. Doubt we will have another such cancelled game this season, and if we do (and we might just you never know) there will definitely be other teams suffering the same due to the weather. The cold weather is not a Barrow phenomena.
Sadly they are acting like Luton fans when they first came down (and a lot still do). That god given right to be in the football league why are we playing these non-league sides we are a league team, as if. Poking fun at others as if they are superior in some way. Most of them seem to be in dream land, bless 'em and have high hopes of play-off and promotion. They need to realize that unless your loaded you will not get out of this league without a very large amount of luck, at least not in the direction they want to. Some of them are only just beginning to realize their reality but a lot of them are acting like 13 year olds with the language and name calling, shocking behavior. Absolutely gutted to come home and read these serious allegations. I was buzzing last night after a great performance and this has really soured things now. Both sets of fans should be talking about a great cup tie and the replay instead we have reports of racism.
There is never a lot of fans behind that goal coming out for the second half but someone else in earshot must have heard if anything was said. You cant shout something like that out and not be heard by others around.

The comment on the Macclesfield forum that is most ridiculous is from the bloke who reckons you can hear abuse on the highlights video. There is no doubt that Brown was getting a lot of stick just after our goal for his whining to the referee. Plenty of booing and jeering and such like, but racist? 100% not. I'm not sure what that bloke thinks he can hear but he needs to get out more.

Everybody these days wants to be offended and they will happily go out of their way or make things up to achieve it. There is great publicity involved and it can deflect attention from real issues. Well done the Macclesfield Manager - you have got your own supporters off your case for another week or two.
