Is it just me, or does titling an official statement "The Facts" seem a little bit tinpot? Who writes this stuff?

bbc/sky/aol/yahoo.All media reporting this.A disgrace. Trial by media. No response from the club to media.Shocking way to treat a story. No alleged this/that/or other. The club seriously has to get legal advise on this.(maybe already is..but this is Barrow  )

Do you have any non English players? Genuine question.

I understand Hessey was involved in a bit of a to and fro with the fans. He's a scouser. Is that what this is? Scousism?

I agree with Bobbie Moore this is getting stupid now and we are sinking as a club to Macclesfield's level of bluster, allegations, provacation and smokescreening.

Relegation looks a little less daunting if we get a break from their sick little club for a while.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Just like to say, as a Macc fan of 35 years, I was utterly sickened by the idiots who decided to show that disgusting flag at our recent game. I've never seen it before and hope the pillocks who brought it never come back. These are clearly people who decided to try to make something of the recent allegations and had no interest in the game. I've since discovered that the fighting broke out due to some of that gathering being in there to stand in front of and try to remove the flag. I and others spoke to police to have it removed as soon as it was unfurled, but were informed that they had no power to take it down as the EDL is not an illegal political entity.
As at all clubs, we have our share of idiots, but it would be wrong for right minded people to suggest that they are in any way representative of Macclesfield Town, far from it, we are proud to have a multi-cultural club.
I think the players at the centre of the allegations genuinely believed they heard something (as you would if it were the other way round), but investigations and conclusions should continue to be made by those in authority, and not by groups of ill informed half wits.

Pete.

Pete.
There have been examples of more illustrious clubs removing banners displaying statements against their owners etc. If clubs can do this then they can ban flags supporting EDL. The fact that Macc tolerate the EDL flag even though it is offensive to the majority including Macc fans could suggest that the Club are at best ambivalent in their attitude towards a racist group.

Interesting, if I describe someone as a scouse [SwearFilter] its banter, it I describe someone as a [SwearFilter] preceded with an adjective describing their skin colour its racism. However both statements are condemning whole groups on the basis that they are different from me. One is banter, the other racism.

To Three Lie Ins (great tag by the way)

As I understand it, we have never had this problem before and so didn't have a ban in place to enforce. I'll be very surprised and disappointed if they get away with showing it at The Moss again. I'm very sad that these people have attached themselves to our club, but can assure you, no matter how noisy or visible they are they DO NOT represent anyone other than themselves.
The allegations raised are serious ones that need to be proved or not, but this has to be done quietly by the clubs and not in the open by people who have only hear say and their own agendas.
Our two clubs have a long history together, and I for one won't allow this ugly issue to cloud my opinion of Barrow AFC and I would hope that your supporters also won't let a few morons to hijack what we all love, ie our football matches.

ruins wrote:Just spent an hour reading this and it seems a little strange. Macc fans EDL, lying players and a manager to make Westley and Evans look like Jesus. But we have seen this before have we not? A certain TMF? All i heard watching the youtube clips was EEEDL - as in TTTMF. No doubt the [SwearFilter] who still think TMF is alive join the EDL for the rallys.

I cant comment too much as i was not there but seems a big mountain has been made out of a mole hill. We should maybe understand that "the mindless few" in Macc are the EDL. And just that.....mindless and few.

Seem like a complete bunch of [SwearFilter] mind.
Sorry Daz, but the majority of that is utter shit :S
What would Jesus do?

It was your manager went on TV with the allegations - your player tweeted about it - and your fans have branded us all racist. As for the EDL - you have seen that flag before your fans were discussing it on your forum last week

I think we should just all let the F.A crack on now (God help us, but it's all we have). If there's no case to answer in either case, then I want sanctions against Macc for making false allegations, especially King, who is most at fault here IMO. Equally, if one of our players has said something he shouldn't in this day and age, then he'll have to take what's coming.

Now, will somebody please give me and the lad a lift to Gateshead!!!
