What cracking result, decent first half but just didn't think it was going to happen for us......good save's, carrying their luck, lucky deflection's - you know, one of them nights.

Harvey was outstanding for most of the second half & really deserved his goal, got to mention Skelts lovely weighted pass to ARH.....inch perfect.
Williams had a decent game as well, D L Rowe is good on the ball but needs to take a leaf out of Boyes book & learn how to chase them.....they don't always drop at your feet at this level.

As soon as we scored the goal they were dropping like flies & being fully supported by a weak referee & two equally as weak linesmen, half the time they were looking at each other waiting for one or the other to make a desicion!!
After hearing Ash's comments about their manager you start to realise what a horrible, horrible club they are. A nasty, bad loser as a manager (who lies) who has signed nasty, bad loser's as players.

Radio C - Ash says that Macc bench were abusing Barrow, calling us a load of thugs, Andy Wood says bitter losers.

Heard the interview as well Jim. For me it shows their frustration, looks like their play off hopes have gone tits up. Sticks and Stones Etc, Who cares? they rode their luck in the cup so quite frankly Sod 'em

Their captain seemed to refuse to shake hands with ours at the start of game, anyone else notice that? They played on when we had a player down and when it was obvious we were putting the ball out of play they tried to win it back and stop it going out of play. Their player went down like he had been shot in the 2nd and we put it straight out even though there was nothing wrong with him. He got up and started to argue with the ref.

The fact 3 of their bookings were for arguing with the ref kind of showed they were rather disgruntled. Barrow were professional and just got on with it. Although Rowe just stood there a couple of times arms in air when he could have played on, not quite the same as the Macc antics I know.

Boyes was booked for not fouling their player who simulated, the amazing thing was that the same thing happened in the 1st half. Boyes never touched the No22 Barham-Barrett on 20mins but he went down after he cleared the ball as if Boyes had followed through on him. The assistant had the same view as we did, he waited a moment then put his flag up. Seen incompetence in this league but to make it up out of nothing? The ref looking round saw nothing but their player rolling around the floor and Boyes walking away. The ref gave Boyes a talking to which is probably why he booked him in the 2nd when he thought their was contact again. Serious gamesmanship and not far away from the antics we got in the cup when they came to Holker St the last time. After the goal, when they lost out in tackles they lashed out at Barrow players as Barrow pulled away with the ball. If they had connected they would have had a few more cards and probably a red to boot. They moaned at every decision sitting on the floor waving arms in the air, they complained so much one player even got booked when they won a free kick.

Their manager and No34 were having a go at the ref as they walked off at half time. They got their comeuppance for approaching the game the way they did, thought they just had to turn up for the points. Shame if they played how they can they could have made a real game of it, but chose to mess around and cry foul. Their defence sucks but they have a good attack that takes the pressure off it but not today. Tonight they deserved nothing and Barrow should have been out of sight very early on, but their keeper kept them in it. No where near good enough for promotion on tonight's showing.

Good finish from Harvey and excellent ball from Skelton to put him in. Harvey shouting and pointing to have him put it in front of him the Macc defence just watched as we cut them open and finished past a keeper that was clearly their man of the match. Everyone played well and nice to see the 2 new additions Dawson and Williams, well done everyone.

Thought we edged it overall just didn't have the cutting edge to finish them off gave them too much of the ball second half but we held on to gain a massive 3 points towards survival next week will decide our fate 7 points minimum should see us take the battle into the final games we can do it even I believe it lol goto be a big ask of the fans to attend 3 games in 6days though

Barrow at our best when in ya face and challenging for everything.Well deserved 3 points to DB and the lads!On a cold night it was good to to be able to laugh when barrow fans mimicked the squealing every time macc players were tackled or touched the ball.Classic!

Gonna be tough to pull strings and get another holiday night off at short notice.Will be gutted to miss the Fleet game as i think we can at last score a few.

Just a note to any Macc fans that listened to BBC Radio Cumbria tonight. The commentary team missed the dive by No22 Barham-Barrett so did not know why he was being constantly booed. The dive got Boyes into trouble in the 1st half. I mention the incident in my previous post. The incident caused the ref to give Boyes a good talking to, when in fact he had done nothing. As there had already been a few diving incidents with little or no contact the No22 was booed (and cheered when making a mistake) for remainder of the game for getting one of our more popular players into trouble. The same happened with No30 Audel when he did the same and Boyes was booked. No body likes players that choose to cheat their way through a game and not play football, I'm sure you'll agree. You would boo a player at Moss Rose if they did the same to your side.

Most teams do reflect there manager and there club. Do I need say anymore. I could, but what I really feel about "that club and that manager" every word would be censored by the mods, so I wo'nt. It's been said by others on here.
What I will say though is, that I have never heard (I should be used to it) so many [SwearFilter] whingers, moaners and absolute arseholes tonight criticising the team for every missed placed pass, header,or missed placed tackle ,etc, etc.We are fighting for our survival in a very good league, we all know that. Some of "our" so called fans expect us to be Barcelona.When we saw that bunch of absolute [SwearFilter]...... there you go, stopped myself just in time. You get my drift.
I will say one thing. IF there is one player I would be breaking the door down to sign for next season, that is Alex Ray Harvey.
Absolutely brilliant. Work rate, passing, movement, vision etc. Trouble is, other managers with a brain know that as well.
What will be will be. If tonights three points keeps us up, performances go out of the window now, will anyone care........................NO.

I thought the back four were very good last night, hessey in particular, officials awful as usual, macc players looked like they were auditioning for the olympic diving team.Crowd well down but maybe this win will see a few more in on monday afternoon but with the rugby at home you never know.If the players play like that until the end of the season we could just do it,other teams are not going to help us we have to do it for ourselves

The commentary team didn't miss it, it was discussed at the time. I switched off on the final whistle so I don't know what was said after that though.
