Obviously our attendances have been way down from previous seasons in BSP but we've had relative success in the cups (QF in trophy and 2nd FA Cup) which must offset some of this loss as surely at the start of the season you have to budget as tho you were knocked out straight away in both. We must have the smallest squad in the league by a long way as every time I look at the programme most teams av at least 5/6 more players on their books. A fair few of "our" team this season have been loanees so their parent club normally pay a percentage if not all their wages so their player can get match fit with us!!! Just slightly baffling how we can be so far in the shite to me but in the end what do I know!!! Any feasibility news anyone........ Depressing times were [SwearFilter] into holes in the floor forever ppl!!!

Exactly! And's who's fault is that?

I know there are a few people on here who sing the praises of the BOD. I'm certainly not one of them. Myself - and I know many others - have believed for a long time now that something just isn't RIGHT - regarding finance and the Keen family.

"Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen [pounds] nineteen [shillings] and six [pence], result happiness. Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure twenty pounds ought and six, result misery."

If there isn't enough money coming in through the gates to pay all the wages and expenses, the Board can't conjure it out of thin air. The players themselves must take some of the blame for several abysmal home performances that have driven fans away.

Sorry Jim but the players come here for remuneration which is AGREED come what may. Even if they don't perform they are entitled to be paid their contractual wages until that contract comes to an end. That is the responsibility of the Board.

It's the responsibility of the Manager to motivate the players to produce performances which will bring the fans through the gates.

I didn't notice the Darlington players not making an effort when they played here and they hadn't been paid for a few months. The same with Kettering. Their goalkeeper almost lost his house and would have done if his in-laws hadn't taken over the mortgage payments but he still played his best.
It's all down to pride in what you do to the best of your ability and to encourage the fans to come back for more to ensure you get paid.
They should be paying us for some of the stuff they have dished up lately.

Some of the biggest reasons that there's not enough money coming in through the gates is that the Board have consistently failed to engage with and build goodwill in the local community, consistently failed to provide a matchday experience to attract floating punters, and have in recent years undone much of their previous good work by giving too little attention to identifying and exploiting commercial opportunities. There shouldn't be a need for any conjuring.

Why are we struggling to pay bills?- Because we have low income
Why do we have low income?- Because we have low crowds
Why do we have low crowds?- Because we don't win many games
Why don't we win many games?- Because the team hasn't been good enough
Why hasn't the team good enough?- Because the team hasn't fully understand their responsibility on the pitch.

Bayliss and Hoskin have done their job. They have spent the entire season coaching them to be the best they can be as players- to be tactically aware, to know what their roles are, motivating them so they are prepared for games. Come match day, that responsibility of coaching shifts over to the team and the players themselves have to take it up.

We've seen too many times players look at each other at set pieces- "Was that my responsibility or yours?" Whether it's defending corners at one end, or attacking corners at the other end, even at throw ins, at times, players have looked unsure where to move, what to do. They haven't grasped their individual responsibility often enough in enough games. How many times has Bayliss cursed poor goals in games?- Responsibility. - who owns it, and what it means. Lacking too often.

Mr Micawber did, of course, get it right but I guess the same principle applies to the players. If they don't have the income to meet expenditure, result...........

Not having that, the team have been god awful, but they are far from bad footballers. DB is a disaster when it comes to tactics.

We've badly missed a strong spine this season, you need a commanding centre back (how many different centre backs have we used this year?), a tough tackling box to box midfielder and a strapping centre forward who can lead the line to be succesful at this level

The thing is we came up without a plan or strategy for growth. Three players were put in charge for a quick fix when it finally dawned on the BoD that their coach was clueless and the club was heading for relegation. Unexpectedly the players galvanised the team, started playing to their strengths and went on that legendary unbeaten run.

Should we again find ourselves knocking on the Conference door we must have some kind of plan/partnership/appropriate funding stream prepared or otherwise forget it. No more robbing Peter to pay Paul, let's live within our means and pay our service providers as agreed no matter what level we operate at, as a Member of Barrow AFC that is what I want to see happen at 'my' club.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...
