Worth Celebrating?

Next season will be our 100th in a competitive league.
Although we celebrated our centenary as a club a few seasons ago because of the small matter of a couple of world wars and the fact we didn't join a league for a couple of seasons after forming we have completed 99 seasons in various leagues so far.
Perhaps we could celebrate this landmark with a prestigious pre season friendly?
For the record we have competed as a league club for 44 seasons
Division 3 North 30 seasons
Division 4 11 seasons and
Division 3 3 seasons
As a non-league club we have competed for 55 seasons
Lancashire Combination B 5 seasons
Lancashire Combination A 9 seasons
Northern Premier League 22 seasons
Conference premier 15 seasons and
Conference North 4 seasons
In the early days in the Lancashire Combination we used to play the reserve teams of all the big lancashire teams. Perhaps one of them could be persuaded to send a team to Holker Street ? Commemorative programme? Big Raffle? Sponsorship? Worth thinking about eh?

First competitive game was against Blackpool I think? Would love to see a big name at Holker St to help us celebrate.

Yes - 'The Definitive...' has Barrow beating Blackpool 3-1 in a friendly, presumably at The Strawberry Ground, on 2nd September 1901, the first competitive game as a 2-0 win over Chorley in the Lancashire Senior Cup on 14th September 1901 and a 1-2 home defeat by Prescot as the first league game in the Lancashire League on October 12th 1901.
