If you'll allow me I'll buy a plaque for the X bar end and donate it to you guys to do with what you will.spirit of 1990 wrote:Is she offering? I'll be downmrsenario wrote:no need for hung drawn and quartered,

Thinking about that Tommy, if it's THAT expensive I wonder how it'd looked done in the left over blue cladding?mrsenario wrote:Also waiting for a quote from a firm for 8 x 4 sheets of 4 mm acrylic for the tunnel covering...could be expensive...anyone else in the know in these areas?
If we cover the tunnel in clear sheeting, this will allow fans to stand in that area during matches and satisfy FA and H&S requirements
No replies on the plaque sponsorship for the X bar end, anyone interested?
Very good of you Tomnoddy (your second I do believeTomnoddy wrote:If you'll allow me I'll buy a plaque for the X bar end and donate it to you guys to do with what you will.
It was asked about Chris so as in most things that people ask us to look in to - we will.barrowfan_chris wrote:Are we seriously suggesting putting cladding on the steelworks/crossbar end I don't think it would look IMO. Maybe we should save the spare pieces for Holker street end repairs?

If people don't want it - we won't do it. It's not our money it's the supporters so we'll only do what the majority agree with. As with most suggestions, we'll stick them up here to sort of gauge the response.
How would the wall being extended another three foot grab you?
I think the main reason we're looking into this is there are quite a few people who stand there & get battered by the weather in Autunm/Winter.
What time fri afternoon Ian ? Also we can get blocks for wall if we do it from Neil prices![]()
I'll do the wall mate![]()
Friday afternoon or Sunday morning painting anyone? A final push before the season starts would be good even if it's your one & only visit, three hours that's all.

The idea as far as I know was to place them on the 6ft wall to add a few extra feet in height as a weather protection type deal.
That sort of job would be spot on for the Furness college trainee brickiesmrsenario wrote:I had a look at this last Friday and the wall at present is around 4 ft high and 62 blocks long(blocks are large ones around 18 x 8 " with 2 square cavities in them)
To raise the wall to 7 ft will take around 250 of these blocks and this will protect from the wind and rain
I spoke to Al Whittaker and Tommy about the cost of 250 of these blocks and it will be interesting to see what they come back with.
Plaques could even go onto the blue and white pained raised 7 ft wall if material costs are too much.....maybe the college lads could get involved in this after September
