U18s v Accross: New Home fixture announced!

Post by OfficialYouth » Thu Oct 10, 2013 1:02 pm

We can announce that our U18 side will host Accrington & Rossendale College on Monday 21st October in their next LFA U18 Floodlit League fixture. Kick-off at Holker Street will be at 7.30pm (gate open from 6.45pm), with the bar open from 6.30pm.

It costs just £2 for adults and free for U16s, entering though the Cross Bar entrance (nodding gate) only!

The lads have taken 6 points in their opening 2 games, with a 6-3 win in front of 175 fans at Holker Street, and their 2-1 win on Tuesday against a tenacious Burnley United.

We hope that you can all support us and cheer us on our way to another successful evening!

Good luck in the game. Pretty good attendance for the first home match, let's hope that can be improved upon at this fixture....crowds love a winning team! A heartfelt well done to the squad and thanks to all those involved with making this happen.

The lads are doing well, congratulations to them & the organiser's/management.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

All I ever hear when people talk about Barrow AFC is that they need to start giving local players opportunities. We can clearly see the foundations of something great starting to be made here, with 16 year old Mikey Thomson already playing for the first team after coming through the performance centre. What better way is there for you to get your point across that you want to see talented local players in the squad, playing with heart, and for a team that means something to them, than to come and support the next generation - and a winning squad at that!

It's only £2 to enter for adults, so there is literally nothing stopping you from showing the BOD exactly how you feel by supporting the U18's on Monday night. Hoping to see you there, and hoping for another improvement on the 175 who watched the opener vs. Macclesfield Town!

So spread the word, come with your family, get your friends to come along, just be there!

Biggest cheer on Tuesday night was when the news came through that u18's were winning at Burnley at HT. Good start for them and really encouraging.

In front of 175? How long before the U18's are pulling a bigger crowd than the first team?

Brilliant stuff, though - one of the biggest positives at the club at a tough time.

Anyone who can make it to this match please do so and you won't be disappointed if the Macclesfield game is anything to go by.
