We've had all sorts of names thrown up to be the potential new manager from Edmo & Skelts to Lowe to Coleman to McCauly, Flitcroft, Meeks, Henney & Anthony, Marginson..........

There's loads more but I can't remember them all now. I know we don't know the individual wage demands of these people or even any other personal terms we might or might not not be able to accomaodate but who'd be our favourite?

Mine would be --

1st - Lowe.
2nd - Coleman.
3rd - Flitcroft.

Be interesting to see how close, or far out we are when the appointment is eventually made.

Flitcroft? Cloud cuckoo land. Chorley will most likely swap places with Barrow at the end of the season. He'll be getting paid more by Chorley than Barrow can pay and i dare say his players at Victory Park are better paid as well. Their gates are higher, more than 1,000 attended yesterday which was their 11th win on the bounce. Why would anyone want to leave a club on the up for one falling faster than a rock off a cliff.

I can't look beyond Coleman or Lowe. I just don't think an inexperienced manager will be able to make an instant impact which is what we need. I think what we saw when Sheridan / Bayliss came in and turned it around was unique.

The board have to get this right- Who is going to get the most out of this bunch of players? We are 5th bottom of the Skrill North, playing rubbish football in front of dwindling crowds!! Under 500 by end of season if it stays like this. For me, they have to take a calculated risk that bringing in an experienced Manager will be able to do enough with what he's got to bring us to safety, playing better football and that the result of this is crowds back up to 750+ by the end of the season.

We need a strong character who can lead us to safety and build upon things for next season, in parallel with continued off field development.

Nothing's guaranteed in football, but I think we will have a better chance going with Coleman or Lowe. Just hope this matches the thinking of the board.

....as for wage demands, I think we have a "monthly" footballing budget and the manager wages come out of that. Then the rest is his playing budget. It's up to manager how much he pays himself and if he brings in an assistant, but if he does it will reduce the budget for the playing side. Think that is how we operate.

The name I thought of even before Bayliss left was Carl MacAuley.
Interesting to see Liam Watson's comments the other day where he said he thinks MacAuley is the man for the job...

He's done well at Vauxhall on limited money and knows the league, non league football in the North-West.
John Coleman would be my first choice but that doesn't look as likely now. Gary Lowe I don't know a lot about but he seems to have a good background at this level.

I must admit I don't know much about the prospective managers. All I can hope for is a manager that gets the players playing good football. Play with pride and passion and determination.
If that's any of the managers named then I'll be happy.
