Darren Edmondson Signs

Post by Ste Story » Tue Dec 10, 2013 9:51 pm

Thought it best to lock the old rumour topic "new manager" and start a new one.

Darren Edmondson had been confirmed as the new manager of Barrow AFC. More info to follow.

Welcome (back) to Barrow, Darren. Whilst im sure this will split opinion and everyone is entitled to their opinion, I hope people will get behind the new man now its confirmed and give the support we need to start climbing the table.

He's served his apprenticeship at a smaller club and now he's got his big chance. Here's hoping he makes the most of it.

Good luck Darren.

I remember when I suggested Darren as a possible candidate, comments made about my reasons. Well moving on I wish Darren well, he is a genuine lad.

Welcome back Darren. Hope it us a long and successful stay, that the town gets behind you and we start to climb this league table soon. For the supporters, let's forget the past few months and make Saturdays trophy game the start of the season again and the start of the future and turn up in decent numbers to Edmo we are all behind him. That includes you stay always !

I have suffered along with all of our 'core' supporters over this last 18 months or so , but have always tried to look on the bright side.
I'm afraid this appointment has no 'bright side' and will condemn us to another almost certain relegation. I have not missed a game in all that time but at this present moment I don't feel the board are giving us anything to look forward to at all and are ' kicking us in the teeth' at every opportunity. I tried to put my point across to a member of the board on Saturday , but as usual he just walked away smiling and without comment, obviously feeling there is no need to justify themselves to us 'mere supporters' who turn up week in week out no matter what !. Well the way I feel tonight it may well be a long time before I return to Holker St , if they cannot listen to the views of the 500 who are left then very soon it may be too late !!!!!

You have suffered,we have all bloody suffered. But nows the chance for a bit of postivity around the place.
If your gonna stay away then just do it-what the hell is the point in coming on here with negative comments-its the start of a new era,for christs sake give the bloke and the club a bloody chance.

It came across more apathetically to me.

Lets hope we can look back in a few years time on tonights appointment of Darren Edmondson as a momentous day for BARROW AFC. Good luck Edmo, as for us supporters we must do just that in getting behind our team through thick and thin. (No body said it was going to be easy though!)

That's it from me with the anti Edmo posts, he's our new manager & I'll be supporting him and backing the boards reasons for choosing him.

I hope with the excitement of a Trophy game on Saturday & the fact we now have a manager in place the gate will improve, along with the performance of the team.

Welcome back to the club Darren.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Best appointment that could have been made under the circumstances.

I hope he does well and that the club follow up their words about integrating young local players.

Time will tell but a small step in the right direction.
