I am NOT getting the blame for you not turning up today! you ought to try taking a little water with them alcholic drinks Tommy. And yes Exile was waiting outside your house at 9:00am ringing you.

Strange old morning down there today, not sure whether it was because the season has ended or we're all just waiting for the result of the vote.

Exile & biggest fans had a litter picking stand off. Their litter picking stick things were the street cleaner version of light sabre's.........Exile lost.
biggest fans was last seen (after cleaning the ground) picking up all sorts of stuff from Wilkie Rd.

Exile then went to help Elaine in the Cross Bar, apparently it was in a right old state after yesterdays exploits. I think they took about two dozen bin bags to the tip in Exiles car, they thought it was best to do that as the bins were full & there was food waste in them as well. I don't know who that job would have fell to if them two hadn't done it.

Tony (our latest & newest recruit) helped Alex paint all the boards that will be fitted in the second section of the press box. Alex is one of the Furness College lads & he came down today on his own to help out, he's not a supporter but that shows how keen he is to gain experience as a painter & decorator & to try and gain employment, a nice lad as well. I'll happily pass any of these lads & girls contact details if anyone requires any P & D jobs doing.

Les was there as usual cleaning yesterdays kit. It looks like Robbie Williams top is missing but I said to Les he might have took it home to wash & save Les the job  probably not though.

Myself, mrsenorita & Ian RVJ popped down to Steve Leonards to pick up some laminate flooring he had for us, this is ideal for the flooring in the press box, it's saved us money & looks the part.
We also had a quick clean around in the GMA which again was starting to resemble what the inside of Tommy abc's head must've looked like this morning
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Was a hive of activity down the ground today with Casson and Jamie Reid meeting with architects, the groundsman and I believe the guys who do Chelsea and Man Utd's pitch, think they were going to be having a walk around the ground with Ian and Tommy just after I left.

Had a quick chat with Paul and Jamie and plenty of positive changes and improvements planned for the ground, some due a little sooner than others.

Exciting times.

The walk around the ground with Paul & Jamie just confirmed what his survey said (probably looked worse than it sounded & looked in the report)
We're getting some quotes off three local contractors this week which will look at getting the the whole flat roof on the X Bar/reception building fixed. He also wants quotes for all the X Bar windows replacing, I mentioned about the lack of windows in the corporate rooms so he agreed he want's prices for that aswell - I was on a roll then so sort of dropped into the conversation that a balcony leading from the corporate rooms through doors would improve the corporate package to fans, Paul agreed & wants quotes for that also.

After the roof is fixed (we've had goes at it ourselves but we just seemed to be chasing the leaks to other areas) he wants to up-grade the X Bar. He actually said he wants to make it looks like it belongs to this century.

We also showed him all the old photo's that have been hidden away for years with Barrow teams from 20-30-40-50 + years ago, some of supporters stood watching games from the early 90's & others of friendlies with league teams, shields & pennants. We said that supporters want them on show, he agreed with us & said you'll get no argument off me, hopefully they'll go either in the X Bar itself or in & around the reception area or corridoors.

All very positive stuff really :D

Can we have the Crossbar looking like it belongs to a football club and finally get rid of those bloody vase paintings. Please.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

I think that's what he meant when we asked him if we can have the clubs history (framed photo's) on show where he replied "you'll get no arguement off me".........I think the vases will be going!

I'm assuming they'll be found a place in the building somewhere. When we were going to try & up-grade the interior design/decor we were hoping to put them in the Cross Bar itself or at least on the wall by the stairs or possibly in the corridors, which he noted were bare of anything to break up the bleak walls.

Really pleased to hear this, hard to believe that some of the previous board didn't want the place brightening up and actually turned down numerous offers of pics and other memorabilia to make it look like what it should be - a football club.
It might actually make people want to go in there next ;)

Had to pop into the GMA/ground today - very nice to see all them MDF boards painted out but had no idea who had done it, got home & had a call off Tony Johnstone (Johnson?) & he'd been down one of the days this week to pick litter & paint for us. A big job (especially on his own) for us now out of the way.

Shame to see so much litter lying around though after these kids matches that've been on down there lately after the club are letting them use the pitch & facilities.

The litter has been picked up almost everyday by me however it is just blowing all over again because the bins and large skip bins are full to overflowing. If the bags are put out the seagulls rip them open. The bins haven't been emptied since the week before Easter and there's literally nowhere to put any of the bags.
John McKay filled his car yesterday to get rid of some of it. I hate to think what it would have been like if Exile and me hadn't taken the 24 bags to the tip the other Sunday.
Apparently Tony Keen has been onto the people who empty them and hopefully they will be emptied asap as there are lots of games ahead over the next few weeks.

At last a proper vase print backlash - hallelujah!

They will look bonny in the skip - who's idea were they in the first place?

Mrssenorita has them earmarked - Christmas pressie for his missus!

Sunday morning is on at the ground for anyone interested, few jobs to clear up before everyone decides what they want to do.

I think Barrowabc will be there to finish off his wall - unless the alcohol gets him again on Sat night so he'll need a hand on that, always an experience working with Tommy

Mrssenorita will be looking for some help with re-hanging the gate.

Ian RVJ will no doubt be looking for help in the press box with either the MDF boards or flooring.

I suppose there'll be plenty of litter flying about so with Exile being away this week that'll all need doing.

There'll be boards to paint in the GMA.

I'll have a little job on in the GMA (see "Brian" topic)

All welcome, the fun & gates open at 9:00am & onwards.
