Fylde now have there minds on a FA Cup Rd 1 match, Chorley have a mid week replay....
A big week ahead...... Fylde are at Boston and we play Guiseley next week. It could be very different come 5pm next Saturday

Personally I think that was a pretty decent performance and a very well deserved 3 points - anything else would have been a travesty.

We dominated much of the game and had plenty of chances, twice hitting the woodwork and the Colwyn Bay keeper made several good stops whereas McMillan had one save of note in the entire ninety. Absolute cracker from Cookie and for me he was MOTM but not for the goal but for his general play both going forward and defensively throughout. We looked solid at the back for the majority of the game and I thought Lacey had one of his best games I have seen for us in midfield, even having a couple of decent strikes on goal. Don't think anyone had a bad game for us - a few moments of panic near the end but I never felt like we were going to do anything except take home three points.

Decent day out and thankfully despite a delayed train and tight connections it turned into a straightforward and quick journey home. Strong away following as well today who were vociferous throughout (Sinclair and the keeper taking plenty of stick). Referee was pretty awful but thankfully didn't make any decisions that cost us dearly.

Good day out , well deserved 3 points. Great goal by our best player on the day Cooky.
Sinclair lost it at the end, calling us [SwearFilter] and showing us his fat arse.

Colwyn Bay have signed former Barrow player Vinny Mukendi after today's narrow defeat.

Andy Burns receiving another head injury. Going down and crawling a few paces as he regained his senses. He has a lump on his forehead the size of an Ostrich egg. Another one of his kamakaze exploits. I think Paddy should get him one of those head helmets boxers wear for his own safety.
I didn't recognise Pilks for a good hour in the clubhouse as he has either removed his hair extensions or has had his hair cut.
I saw Shez smile about four times too. A good day all round. :scarf:

Right off to Coronation St in a couple of hours. Thank goodness the clocks went back an hour--extra sleeping time.

Very good Nige :)

Trouble is, if mrssenorita gets there first he'll have to wait for the rest of us as the gates would probably fall off if he was let loose on them.........and he'll have eaten all the pies ;)
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Missed some big chaces again yesterday, superb 3 points and on balance we definitely deserved it but we need to be a bit more clinical and ruthless away from home, particularly in the spells when we're well on top.

Thought Lacey had easily his best game all season for us and was probably my MOTM, hope he keeps it up and proves a few wrong. Reid was excellent in spells and is a real threat when he's firing, but has a tendency to drift in and out of games, and missed a big chance at 0-0 yesterday.

Nice to keep another clean sheet, thought Grand and especially Livesey were superb, not been overly convinced by Livesey so far this season but yesterday he was fantastic. Good to see a more settled back 4, looking comfortable and being well supported by the rest of the team, even Andy Cook was back in the mix of it and putting in a shift from the back when called upon. McMillan was absolutely solid too, had 100% confidence every time the ball came his way yesterday, which I've not really felt this season much.

One thing that does disappoint me this season is how slow we are on the counter and moving the ball from the back to the front. We complain that teams put 11 men behind the ball and make things difficult to break down, but we really don't help ourselves alot of the time, breaking so slow they have time to get everyone back and into position. We've got the players to break quickly, pick a few clever passes and really stretch teams yet we never seem to do it. We spend half the game playing far too direct/long ball in the wrong circumstances but times when we really should be getting forward quickly and counter-attacking teams we're too careful an conservative.

Always nice to win on the road though and great to see Cook back on the scoresheet with an absolute quality finish.

At full-time yesterday I was happy with the 3 points but felt a bit frustrated in the overall performance, on reflection though I think I was being overly harsh. There is still room for improvement and its frustrating that we are missing so many good chances, but we were well worth the win against a side who certainly weren't the worst we'll play.

Defensively we were very solid, but I would concur with Ste above in that we don't always make the most of opportunities to break. I think thats not just a case of breaking too slowly but its sometimes about just making the wrong decisions. As I say though I really don't think there is a lot to complain about from yesterday's showing and its an excellent 3 points. Hopefully we can start picking up results on the road on a more regular basis from now on in as if we do that we'll win the league.

Just watched the highlights and we murdered them. Hit the post but Izaks should have gone to the left not right and made it 1-0 plus he had a tame effort easily saved when he should have scored. Pity we can't have longer highlights. Listened to the game but it was very fragmented to say the least.
Another 3 points so we should be very please.
Great test this week. Guiseley only lost 2 and have a good defence but attack !!!!.As we are very good on attack. Should be a very good game so lets hope a bumper attendance say 2000.
We are on course for what we are aiming for :flag: :flag: :flag:
