This is only Darren's second season and it's unrealistic to expect immediate or early success. It's also disrespectful to Hyde and other less financially secure clubs to simply expect Barrow to thrash them every game - we scored four as well remember. Yes, Hyde are bottom of the league but that does not mean we should expect to pick up points against them. I understand that people will be disappointed but it's equally frustrating to see how fickle some Barrow fans can be - remain confident, stay calm and have faith in Edmo.

So you genuinely think our well paid players of this level shouldnt be expected to beat a side who before today had conceded 71 goals and are now after todays point 13 points from safety.

Totally agree, anyone who didn't expect us to win today is in a dream world, I expected us to win today and win today comfortably. Once again another massive let down, things have to change. Pathetic group of players earning good coin lead by a manager who doesn't know his best 11 in January!!The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:mally wrote: Exactly. Couldn't agree more.

if we can't expect to take points off bottom of the league who have lost 18 out of 26 games and just been tonked 7-1 the game before against second bottom in the league then who the hell can we expect to take points off ?
Come on people.

Agreed. The idea that you shouldn't expect to beat teams and anybody can beat anybody is a myth. To do well and win leagues you have to target games and win points from them. Games away from home against the bottom three in the league HAVE to be targeted as wins. As it is we've taken 1 point from the bottom 3 teams away from home this season, that's simply not good enough.KHayman wrote:Jimmy that's not a serious post is it ?mally wrote: Exactly. Very difficult to have faith in him when the players don't listen to his advice or instructions! Several times players like Lacey and Walker ignored him.mally wrote:Exactly. Today Edmo got the shape wrong, tactics wrong and personell wrong. Apart from that he did ok.
However, some of those players are just not good enough. Ledsham hit 2 good goals and did ok.
Left back tried hard. Cook did well again. Apart from that they were abysmal with Cowps having one the worst games anyone has had.

The view from the other side - the Hyde Forum:
On another day we could have won but for a bizarre intervention by the Barrow crossbar and a blatant offside that gifted Barrow their fourth.
Still, spirits have been lifted courtesy of the undoubted impact that Gary Lowe has made by just being around the place again. It's the little things that he does right. Words of encouragement, proper pre-match warm up sessions, the list goes on.
Today's comeback would never have happened in a million years under Scott McNiven. "Reasons To Be Cheerful", as Ian Dury once sung............

Re: Hyde FC Match Thread
We were bad.
Conceding 4 to them is a disgrace, they looked more likely to win the game at points. Once we went ahead we stopped trying to score. We have no wingers, where as Hyde had a couple who would run at us and caused us problems all game.
All we seem to do is launch the ball forward to the strikers and by pass the midfield.
We should be attacking teams from the start, not waiting until we concede. We seem to have no organization at all, no leadership on or off the pitch.

Re: Hyde FC Match Thread
things that need to be looked at.
1. our long ball game works rarely. why has that been our style of play over Christmas?
2. what do we do when our wingers are out of action ? so then we don't have to resort to long balls.
3. why do we concede so many goals when teams are on the break from wide areas?
1. and 3. pretty much go hand in hand. if you keep [SwearFilter] the ball forward you literally give the ball away more which exposes your wing backs if they have quick wingers which means more chances for the opposition

Re: Hyde FC Match Thread
Indeed. It's not that we're being beaten by superior teams with better ability. Half the reason is perhaps down to a bit of attitude and the need for big leaders and characters, but as important is that we're beating ourselves before a ball has even been kicked by tactics. Our tactics, style of play and use of personnel simply isn't being employed to get the best out of the squad and that needs looking at.The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:things that need to be looked at.

Re: Hyde FC Match Thread
We thought we had it won at 4-2 and switched off after that.
Can't believe those not at the game who are actually defending this and saying we weren't expected to win.
In that position we should have won comfortably but threw it away. Lets not defend the fact we didn't win and threw 2 points away to a poor side we should have beaten easily should we not?
Lots of questions need answering about both our team and management some of which are mentioned in previous posts - esp the defence!

It's a good job that Edmo is now employed full time as he'll have lots more time to sort this out!Ste Story wrote:

Pretty deflating these last two weeks. It will perhaps do everyone good - fans included - to have 9 days break before our next match!

Exactly. 3 of us talking today about having no width yet the opposition drive a bus the middle of the park unchallenged. Wrong tactics and formation.Ste Story wrote:Indeed. Re: Hyde FC Match Thread
Despite having players injured
We lack discipline, fail to keep our shape and show a determination to win everything we showed last season in our fight to stay up!
Are the players pampered too much?
Conditioning coaches etc sometimes we put things in players minds they might not. need!
