WE were lucky to get a point, but any team worthy of top of league should, when 4-2 in front,be able to control the game and we never did.
Hyde out run ,out thought and played better approach football than we did.
Cowperthwaite was getting the run around by their pacey left winger from the start and everyone could see it except for management.ARH went off and they had chance to move Cowps into midfield and bring on Burns who I think would have handled winger better and we would have had cover in midfield.
Cook work very hard but did miss a very easy chance to put us 5 up,Jason does seem off the pace looks like hes carrying knock don't know.
Lacey is the poor definitely too slow,Ledsham tired but showed promise,Gorman just disappears,Sheza ok but played bit deep,Grand and Livesey for all their experience really not the players I thought they would be,Wilmer-anderton did ok.
Once again have had to witness a very poor Barrow AFC side :( and they are getting worse if that's possible
Time to wake up and take off the rose tinted glasses we are not as good as we think we are.

That was rubbish, whenever Hyde attacked I had no confidence whatsoever, too slow at the back as previously mentioned.
First 20 minutes nobody on the pitch seemed to know what formation we were playing,
If teams run at us they will score goals.
Lack of leadership on the field is shocking.

Less long balls today though I thought.

Not a day to go to football and not drink like I did.

Barrow currently sit second in the league after a seriously disappointing string of results, however, there is still much to feel positive about. There is a strong likelihood that all the leading clubs will experience similar runs where results go poorly. Barrow are going through a blip and not a major problem - this is not the time to talk-down individual players, manager or the Club. It only seems like a few week that people, many of them contributors to this forum, were rightly looking forward to a successful season and bright future - how quickly things change, how quickly people become fickle. Stay confident and keep faith with Edmo

If you were a neutral then you would have found that an entertaining affair with some shambolic defending but most (if not all of) the goals being decent quality finishing. Any Hyde fans would be delirious at such a result though forget the "Gary Lowe" effect as we effectively gifted them 3 goals boosting their confidence and probably kickstarting their season which we are past masters at. As a Barrow fan, my mood ranged from depression to delirium to disbelief as events unfolded. Forgetting all that has gone before in recent weeks for a moment - this truly was a new low against a very, very poor Hyde team.

Lets get the positives out of the way first. I know it is difficult to think there were any but it was an impressive debut from Ledsham for the first hour, Wilmer-Anderton had a decent game at left back and Cookie was tireless throughout - though ultimately his missed opportunity in a one on one at 4-2 might have cost us dearly.

As for the negatives - it is difficult to know where to start. The selection was quite frankly bewildering. Loads of shouts on this forum in the last couple of weeks to drop Burns but haven't seen too much of those people today as Cowps had possibly the worst display I have ever seen in a Barrow shirt. It got to the point where it was quite frankly embarrassing as he personally gifted two goals and was exposed time and again to the point where all Hyde did was punt it out to the left knowing he was likely to give them something to feed off. Edmo has to take a lot of responsibility here as he should have been hauled off by half time at the latest. Seriously he was playing like someone who had been on a massive bender since New Years Eve and had rolled in just prior to kick-off. Why did he not get subbed? I really hope that it was not Edmo being stubborn but I cannot think of a justifiable reason.

Livesey and Grand looked like they had been introduced at 2.55pm this afternoon. McMillan didn't exactly cover himself in glory today though I think it is harsh to hold him much at fault. Until Harvey's departure we had zero width and were trying to thread the eye of the needle with passes through the middle. Gorman coming on co-incided with us starting to create chances as we suddenly opened up some space. Sheridan was getting so much time on the ball at this point with Lacey and Ledshall working around him that it was disappointing he did not do more and as the game wore on Sheridan just became more and more anonymous - I seriously have no idea why so many on this forum have such a love affair with him. He has some quality but he just doesn't show it enough and his defensive qualities are virtually non-existent in my opinion. Lacey was gash today - he has for me been one of our most consistent performers this season but not today. Apparently there was a comment on RC that Walker was running the Hyde defence ragged and should not have been subbed. I have no idea which game this person was watching as his goal apart Walker did what he has done for most of this season - very little!!

Despite the poor display of many of the players the harshest criticism of today has to go to Edmo and the coaching staff. They failed to rectify the Cowps issue. They failed to realise that Ledshall was tiring after 3-4 weeks without a game and unsurprisingly disappeared in the last 20-30 minutes. They failed with an initial team selection and had the enforced change of Harvey not happened then I am not sure we would have come back into the game. Is something seriously wrong there? I am beginning to wonder. I don't believe that jumping in and sacking the manager is the answer but he needs to take a long look at himself and he is going to be under pressure over the next couple of months if he doesn't turn things around quickly.

Anyway rant over and despite a dreadful display it was as always a decent trip out with the Exiles and if nothing else we did witness 8 goals in what was a truly bizarre afternoon.

To be fair to walker, he scored a pretty decent goal, and played OK. When it comes to strikers as long as they grab a goal I'm not arsed how they play. Look at the scoreline, the strikers were not the problem.

I think the stick Livesey and Grand are getting is unfair. How can they be blamed for poor passbacks, fullbacks getting caught on the ball and the centre forward not picking up his man at a corner. 2 of our goals came from a pass from a centre back, yet they still get blasted for playing a long ball. Ledsham and Sheridan came short for the ball today and were given it. I honestly wonder what people are watching sometimes or do they just like to pick on players and have a moan.

Agree with all points raised above.

The performance today actually reminded me of the 4-3 win at Solihull which I though we were really lucky to come away with. Same pattern to the game - first 20 minutes were woeful, next 50 minutes in complete control and the last 20 defending like pantomime dummies. The same symptoms were present even in games where we weren't really pushed - Gainsborough for example where we played with them for the bulk of the game before desperately defending the last 15 minutes.

What this demonstrates I think is that this is not something that's just happening now. We have been getting away with it and we are now being found out especially away from home. The squad may be short of some of its better players but it is fundamentally flawed and has been from the off.

I cannot recall another team in this position playing such topsy-turvy football. Sometimes skilful and dominating up front whilst simultaneously being utterly clueless at the back. I don't think that we as supporters have a right to expect the team to win every week nor not to have "days off". What I cannot understand nor accept is the almost "Epileptic" thrashing about that this particular team seems to produce. There is no other team that I know of that does this. We play like a well powered vehicle with intermittent engine problems. An unfathomable mix of comedy and tragedy. Its quite difficult sometimes to watch - one moment thrilled the next embarrassed.

For the record, Ledsham was great for 60 minutes until he tired. He actually got us back into the game during the first half and was all over the place. Cook also I couldn't really fault except that he should've scored a fifth and killed Hyde off at 4-2. In fact going forward we looked a league better than their defense. I dont think however I've seen anything as shambolic as our defensive display today. Cowperthwaite was truly awful. Everything seemed to emanate from the left side. Fans were saying at half-time that he would have to be subbed (by anybody) but he was not. The gap was not plugged.

I'm not a great tactician when it comes to football and I hesitate to call Edmo out. However even I can see that as a unit BAFC today were not mediocre not even really bad - just bizarre. At times in control at times totally lost. Irrespective of individuals who do not perform, to me that looks like the lack of a guiding hand, lack of a plan, an inability to react consistently etc. etc. etc. Edmos reputation has been built so far on results. The pendulum is now swinging and the faults are becoming more visible.

The Management team now have the challenge they thought they had at the beginning of the season. Personally, I've no doubt that unless we go up this year EDmo will not be in charge next season. Unless I'm completely wrong about PC and he is indeed a sentimental cuddly pussycat.

I don't see us catching Fylde now. They're 5 pts ahead with a game in hand, so that's probably going to be 8 and their goal difference is like having another point. Big gap opening up.
Long way to go but i don't think we'll be top again this season.

Alternatively that game in hand is against guiseley so even if they don't capitalise it let's guiseley leapfrog us. Fair to assume both Fylde and Guiseley won't keep their foot on the gas right until the end but can't see both of them doing it and letting us back into the driving seat any time soon.

Funny little ref today. He really did make John little look big.

He had no neck a bit like Gladstone small

At least he had a sense of humour. When someone shouted "Stand Up Ref" he looked over, laughed and jumped in the air.

There wasn't a lot else to smile about today but that picture is quite funny

That was one of the most schizophrenic performances I think I've ever seen from a football team today. In fact I left the ground feeling that I might be requiring the services of a psychiatist if I have to witness a performance like that again. It's all been said earlier - a terrible 25 minutes with us going two down total domination for the next 50 minutes (bar the first minute of the second half) swiftly followed by a final 15 minutes of absolute chaos which could have easily seen us lose the game.

I haven't seen Barrow for a couple on months but a number of things have struck me today. Firstly the defence is verging on shambolic - no organisation & no belief. As somebody commented though we seemed to have no middle (of the midfield) or width to our game which allowed Hyde to run at us at will in the end. We are going more and more long ball we do not seem to have the ability to mix things up - as all good sides have.

On the plus side - Cook he never stopped working & Lumsden - when really fit could be our saving grace.

Please dont put Cowps at right back he's far more effective as a midfield anchor I felt for the lad today

And finally please Barrow don't put me through an afternoon like that again.

Well where do i start about yesterdays game, well two words spring to mind ABSOLUTE S_ _ _ _E. Mcmillan not good enough was at fault for two of the goals. Cowps awful, had a chance to shine at fault for two of the goals why he did not go into midfield when arh went off only edmo knows Livesey to slow missed to many tackles Grand worst game i have seen him play could not put five yard passes together Wilmer-Anderton kept going down blind alleys but nobody was making any space for him Ledsham two superb goals good job he was on the pitch obviously tired towards end should have come off Harvey very unlucky to get clattered early on then pulled up with a hamstring injury now out for five weeks Sheridan best of the midfield over the whole game tried hard Lacey not good enough did not want to know he was a yard slower than any one else Cook scored a good goal tried hard again Walker scored a good goal ran around all afternoon chasing balls Gorman i am afraid this man should nevetr pull on a bafc shirt again awful confidence is zero will not take players on kept coming inside and losing ball easily Ellison not effective when he came on. cant understand why prichard did not get on he would have got down those wings and taken on their defence no doubt people will disagree with me about certain issues but i pay my money and say how it is rant over :(
