Sunday morning on for those interested, 9:00am onwards, turnstile "C"

Some lighting to sort.
Some plumbing to finish (yes, still that one)
Press box up grade.
Finish young Mr Dodds camera platform.
Spot of painting.
The main door to re-fit on one of the porta-loo's that the wind had ripped off.
Scrap metal run to the spot around the corner on Park Rd.
Terrace repairs*

*A funny thing happened on Saturday in front of the BST office/shop. As we were giving abc a bit of grief for his non appearance on the last Sunday visit one of the Sollihul directors slipped on some terracing........the exact same bit abc had repaired last year!!
To be fair, it wasn't the repaired terracings (or abc's) fault, just comical it happened on that bit.....while we were there!

Sounds like a half decent turn out on the books for this week.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Good turnout sunday, 2 wittys turned up to progress the lighting in the workshop and the plumbing in the trust office, the camera gantry made great progress and should be in place soon, maybe for the next home game, turnstile E/F got a tower bolt fitted inside to prevent the operator from potential mugging on the newly fitted door, the new joinery area has got started in the workshop, this will enabale the donated bandsaw and table saw, bench sander and newly lit marking off area all to help make life easier for tool storage and working conditions. lots of other bits and bobs going on but the weather hampered us later in the morning.

Yeah, as mrsenario says it was a good morning down there but struggled doing too much as the weather stopped a few things going on. The big drainpipe on the end of the main stand will need reconnecting (it blew off last month) because depending on which way the wind is blowing the rain water either drops all over the pavement which isn't good for pedestrians or even supporters queueing, or it runs down the tin cladding on the side of the stand wall like a banana slide and flies off where the steward stands & people walk past.
Fair bit of rubbish still left blowing around from whenever which does nothing for the appearance of the ground.
Things got off to a slack start as I was a little err, hung-over & sort of slept in, so when I arrived (after getting numerous phone calls & texts  ) they were all stood around and in the words of that song "busy doing nothing"
Some new lighting put in the GMA by Whitty 1969 (Fyldes forum favourite Barrovian atm)
Exile & Tommy nine toes fastened the other big drain pipe with some clips because that was starting to come loose (these are about 30 foot long &6" diameter so fair to say would do some damage to people or cars)
Whitty 1964 drilled us the hole through the wall for the water waste pipe in the trust office.
Pete Nichols & IRVJ turned the sink & units around in there and I think they ended up seeing what is needed for the boiler when that arrives.
Myself and mrsenario carried on with the new double sized camera platform for young Mr Dodd and the other cameraman. The new one will be about six inches higher which will stop the tops of head shots on the highlights.......lots of glare back off the top of Billy Daleys head apparently :)
And finally JCubb dropped our trailer off that he has spent quite a bit of time on making it roadworthy, be a shame to use it now....it looks brand new.

Ian do you know if that loose metal facia at the end of the main stand has been secured?

Which end of the main stand Elaine? and is the blue metal facia that runs down the side of the steps at waist height? Not that I know of but we'll have a look.

Shouldn't be a problem Neil, we've been asked to get a qoute for someone to come in with a cherry picker (or scaffolding) to fix the downpipes on both sides of the main stand. That's the one that fell off and the one we managed to give a few more months life to on Sunday, so they can look at the tin facia at the same time.

Just wondering Pete, is anyone actually employed by the club to clean up after home games?

Since Elaine "retired" the place looks like a shit hole with rubbish all over the place which appears to be left to the wind to sort out, including in both dug-outs. Just shows what an important job Elaine did all those years.

There will be a session tomorrow morning at the ground 9 00 as usual jobs include new camera gantry and step general painting of bare wood press box and trust office and joinery area to workshop to progress plus all the chat and rumours that go with it as the title charge mounts. Don't be late new keyholders

Very productive 3 hours this morning at short notice by 6 volunteers
Haven't seen our ground cleaner for ages but he promptly set to with his litter picker so great effort there
Ian Curruthers and Pete Nichols re installed the porta cabin toilet door inside turnstile C. This blew clean off in recent gales but now the casing all strengthened and new mortise lock and peter greenwood coat of paint returned it to as new status
ian and I cracked on to complete the new galvanised 2 man camera gantry in the main stand which will enhance your match highlights
We also fitted a safety rail to 2 sides and it looks the business now for Matthew Dodds filming
Peter Greenwood had a good paint and tidy in the trust office and shop and ran a trial on the new boiler and plumbing recently installed in there.. this could give the trust the option to provide other products for your match day experience
the press box received some memorabilia and is starting to look like a hairdressers
