Re: Explain this one - Performance Centre?
Something has gone on that needed looking at, it was and someone has paid for it with his job (harsh perhaps) We don't know the in's and out's and might never but there's nothing more certain than one poster jumping on a story that has the smallest hint of controversy.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Why bring the Lesbian Lizards into it?
La lucha continua...

It's not really the opening posters or anyone else on this threads fault the person got the sack. He has done something the club deemed unacceptable and if they thought it wasnt a sackable offence he would still be employed. End of

Well I would hate to be employed under Barrow AFC at the moment.
People must be thinking anything can be classed as a sackable offence.

So sending out a letter bearing someone else's signature with neither their knowledge or permission is ok with you is it.
The person involved got it horribly wrong and the end result was inevitable.
Don't defend the indefensible. Whilst it may be very sad for the person concerned its still wrong.

Maybe he pp'd it with Meeks living so far away ?
Yes it was wrong. If the reaction of this parent on here hadnt been so extreme it would have been a lot lesser conclusion. Anyway thats done with.
However I still don't see how someone can be stupid enough to think that anyone has accused anyone of taking drugs in this situation.

Re: Explain this one - Performance Centre?
This issue seems to illustrate that perhaps we are lacking credible day-to-day management at the club; one major disadvantage of the owner being located overseas. The former regime met about three times a week at the club and an issue like this would have been dealt with quickly and sensibly without the unfortunate consequences and bad blood we have witnessed.
For the record I am more than happy with the new regime and the owner acted swiftly when he was made aware of the facts. But for the sake of some immediate and rational management intervention the whole sorry episode wouldn’t have escalated as it did. Did no one replace that Jamie fella as General (i.e. day-to-day) Manager?

We will follow the soccer, over land and sea...
Re: Explain this one - Performance Centre?
Its probably all about timing I think.
If we get promoted then a lot has to change and more full time employees engaged at every level. It will be a big step up both in cost and need for a more business like approach. hopefully the success will attract bigger crowds and that will part finance it. Along with a developing new ground this will also help to swell the attendances and help finance the extra costs. Last time in the Conf Prem we operated on a bit of a shoestring with next to no employees. If we try that again it will be instant relegation.
I'm sure the owner is well aware of this and with only 8 games to go is willing to "wait and see" before committing to the necessary changes.
Semper sursum
