Game was crying out for a goal, So WHY is our 20+ Goalscorer warming the bench ?????

Stockport at Home Friday we need to make the following changes.

Out: Walker, Carver and Ledsham
In: Cook, Pilkington and Lacey.

Same again..........Yet another inept performance and lacking fundamental football skills.Long punts onto head of two centre backs who could handle that all day.Very little passing and moving on the deck. Not for the first time midfield ineffective.
Why the management do not pick their best players to start ,then introduce changes off the very strong bench we have at moment with all players now fit,if needed.
Can understand other supporters wondering why we are top of league cos I don't know either.
Very disappointing and the crowds deserve better. :(

That was fairly typical fare for this season I thought only we usually get a goal or two due to individual endeavour. We have never looked a good championship winning team but we have some quality players who usually come up trumps. Today only our goalkeeper and two centre backs produced any magic. Its a tough watch but we're top of the league with 6 games to go - it's tickety boo!

We could win this league without even playing any football, only once this season have we played any football that was the Chorley home game, I know football is now only a result based game but some football now and again would be nice. Two big games over Easter, we need to play our best team and that is not putting Cook on the bench, Walker needs to sit on the bench for a while. The match at Hyde was abandoned after 88mins.

Very drab lifeless performance today, agree with some comments that we could possibly win this league without ever really playing much football, we have ground results out but today was just one too many. I ask the question IF we do win this league how many of that squad could compete a step up and make a go of it. My answer would be very very few, I'd go 4 at a push Cook Grand Livesy and Howath.

I'd agree with those players, plus maybe Pilkington and Wilson given a proper pre-season.

Appalling and gutless performance from a team going for a league title at home against let's face it pretty poor opposition. Every game there is a debate on here who should be in midfield when it has been bypassed all season. Talking about midfield what the hell is Ledsham supposed to do in there? Moves like he is tredding water and cannot tackle. Performance wise we must be pretty close to the worst team to possibly win this league which tells you how dire it is. Anyone who thinks any reasonable number of this squad can cut it in the Conf Premier is kidding themselves. I am not sure Edmo and Meeks can either if this is the best they can do tactically. Of course I'm still over the moon we are still top and desperate for us to win this league but even if we had scrapped an undeserved 3 points, that today is just not good enough end of.

Was one of top 3 top scorers in this league last season up front on his own in a long ball team, . Why not?

Correct. From the FA website:

Barrow AFC Patrick Lacey 28/03/2015 03/04/2015 Suspended from all first team football until the Club have completed 2 first team matches for 5/10/15 cautions.

I disagree with that, I think there are a good number that are good enough to compete at the level above. Where I think the issue lies is more with Edmo's management, we are a collection of good individuals (for the level) and not a team and that is at least in part down to Edmo and his constant chopping and changing. As others have said, we've won a lot of games purely because individuals have pulled something out of the bag to get us the points but we've rarely looked convincing as a team. We've got some very good footballers in the squad but all too often we resort to aimless high balls forward to Cook (when he's playing) and this doesn't allow us to see the best of some of the players we've got. I can't help but think Edmo has just been very fortunate to have been backed in the way that he has, with the players we've got we're always going to win games even when we aren't getting the best out of them as a team purely because they are better players than 99% of anyone else at this level.

Cook, Pilks, Wilson, Grand, Livesey, Howarth, Harvey, Carver, Reid and an in-form Walker are all definitely good enough to compete at the level above and you could make a strong case for some of the others too.

Our wing backs are very weak.

Cowps at Left Back is an awful choice.
