It's hard to argue with the tactics of a manager who is getting results and a 0-0 draw at Chorley isn't bad considering they are the form team in the league and had 4 straight wins and 14 goals before this game. It's going to be tense in the next 3 weeks, we can't afford any slip ups, but neither can Fylde!

That's assuming we win our other three!

Excellent result today, especially after going down to ten. It's getting very close now! We are ahead of an excellent Fylde team with the league in our hands with four games to go. Not sure why people feel the need to twine so much. The big test is next season *if* we get promoted.

Before playing Stockport on Friday and Chorley today, most people on this forum would have been happy with 4 points from those two games.
Barrow played their hardest opponents today, while Fylde as expected comfortably beat their easiest in the last 5 remaining games.
We are still 3 points ahead with both teams having similarly opposition remaining.
Barrow have North Ferriby United and Tamworth at home, and Brackley and Lowestoft away.
Fylde have Solihull and Gloucester at home and Harrogate and Bradford away.
On present form, Lowestoft away could be our hardest game, while both away games for Fylde could see them drop points.
It's squeaky bum time folks.
Whoever holds their nerve (and form) will finish top.
Let's hope it is the Bluebirds.

Not massively concerned about that, would've taken a draw before kick off and especially after the sending off. Initially feared the worst when Lacey got sent off (no need for it), but it didn't do anything to change the game. I thought we would've scraped a 1-0 if we had 11 men, giving us the chance to introduce Haworth and/or Pilkington out wide. Chorley didn't look the form side in the league whatsoever, they didn't take the game by the scruff of the neck like I expected them to after the red card.

The defence was solid as ever, apart from the glorious chance their number 9 spurned Livesey and Grand ate any long balls or attacks for dinner. Cowperthwaite looked a lot better on the right, and a special mention to McWilliams who I thought was solid after a long period out of the side.

Some of Sheridan's dead balls are poor, whilst it was also disappointing that we didn't create much up front.

Fantastic atmosphere to be a part of with great travelling numbers, which I thought looked more than 693 myself.

Four very winnable games to come, 12 points is not much to ask at all.
Popular side since '03.

I thought we plated very well to be honest

We restricted a side that had scored 10 goals in two games to nothing at all

We were by far the better side

The fans were a credit to the club

The fans were a credit to the club[/quote]

Is that the same "fans" that were swinging their handbags at the Chorley "fans" outside the Duke of York pub before the game? And the "fans" at the train station after the game?

Disgraceful!!

Solid point away at an inform Chorley I thought we defended superbly but lacked a bit of creativity and our crossing today was woeful. But I'd have taken a point before kick off so going down to ten for the last 40mins it makes it an even better point. Actually thought we were better with 10 men and could have nicked it. I do wonder what Marcus Carver brings to the table I must say, Haworth never even got on today and to me looks a hundred times more of a threat than Carver!!
Fans were suburb today 639 travelling fans atmosphere was top. Well done all.

Good point.

Back 4 were solid.

Couple of chances for us and them.

Two long ball teams on a poor surface.

Daft red card.

Good noise from us.

Thought Chorley weren't great and hope we had another gear or two in us.

Getting closer to the promise land... happy

Excellent result, performance apart from the back 5 wasn't great.
Chorley weren't great, thought we were the better side even with ten men.

Lacey is crap, and an idiot, one positive is that he will be suspended now.

Thought the fans were great, sounds like there was some trouble but nothing I didn't expect. Saw a few 'fans' trying to leave at the end but got all confused when there was some police by the gates then waited inside, I'm sure they were completely innocent though.
Its a shame as it gives the fans a bad reputation, didn't seem to have much trouble last season when we were shite.

Thought we played well today on an awful pitch and even with 10 men we looked the better side. Edmo got his formation and selection spot on.

Paddy - What are you playing at ? and if you need to headbutt someone at least do it properly ! Is that him done for the season now ?

Fantastic away support

We were never going to make it easy for ourselves by winning the last 6 games were we !

Lacey will be available for the next 3 games. Any suspension doesn't kick in until the week of the Lowestoft game
