I assume he's been released but no details to that as of yet. If so, I expect him to be one of a couple more.
All the best to him. I thought he deserved a chance in the next step. One of those players that wore his heart on his sleeve, and he'll always be remembered for that. Sad to see him go.

Re: Andy Burns
Being one of the more senior supporter and well in the know I knew this was coming*
Best of luck to the lad, he'll do well wherever he ends up. A big summer of change coming it seems.
*That was a joke but I had heard he was going along with a few others on top of the previous 5 released.

Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Re: Andy Burns
He has had great moments for us but isn't going to cut it if we are aiming for play-offs/promotion in the next few years. Good luck to him though...honest and hard-working fella.

Re: Andy Burns
Absolutely head and shoulders above the rest in his first season, mainly because of his commitment. Strangely looked a bit out of his depth this year when compared to the better players brought in.
Still one of my favourite players in recent years and I'm sure he'll play at least in the Conference in the future.

Re: Andy Burns
No player has summed up all that is good about Barrow AFC as much since Paul Jones.
Top man, he just completely got us as a club and a support from the start, wish him the best of luck wherever he goes.. Probably my favourite player of the promotion squad.

Re: Andy Burns
Has never let the club down and always given his all. He isn't the most naturally talented but makes the most of what he has with his commitment. I did wonder if he was going to be good enough for the next step up but would have been glad to have him as a squad member for next season after what he has given to us. Whatever the reasons for him/the club deciding it was time they certainly are nothing to do with his attitude.
Thanks Andy and all the very best wherever you end up as there should be plenty of clubs at Conference North level ready to snap you up.

Re: Andy Burns
Shame that as I thought Andy was worth a shot next season but I suppose it's no big shock as he seems to have been in and out of favour lately, then again he might have been asked to stop on but felt like he couldn't commit to full time....there'll be others in the same boat.
All the best for the future Andy, you stood out with your efforts the season before last and rightly deserved all the awards you received at the end of it

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Andy Burns
Love how he seemed to go more crazy than anyone else at the final whistle at Lowestoft on the highlights, shows how much it meant to him, wish him all the best in the future.
