"our club" the gateshad gone below 500, i honestly believe we were not far from going under so no, your the one writing "tosh" or would you keep burying your head in the sand?
Absolutely correct Nige, Steve Leonard said that at the public meeting, if we didn't sell out then in a few years time, we likley not exist.
Now we don't have the worries (or the say) in the finances
We're all supporters on here. Let's leave the negative comments to the away fans

We didn't have the say before in the finances thats just total nonsense. We were not down to 500 - some gates had dropped to that amount but the average was 736.

The previous model didn't work because it was never done properly. As much as I hate FC United and there condescending attitude they do it right. The fans feel they really own the club and the club is geared up to extracting money from the fans as soon as they arrive at the ground. I feel as much engaged now as I did then - this is OUR club - it's not like choosing a supermarket.

Then, as now (in many cases) - to get a drink at half time you have to do a 5 minute walk to a small understaffed bar, you can't buy a shirt to take on your holidays and commercially we are very poor. We want the club to be successful and we have every right to question and make suggestions.

In terms of Ant Wilson - I hope he makes a full recovery. In terms of value for money he hasn't been good value for money and I do feel for him - it's very sad all round. I hope he makes a recovery and comes back into the team and scores a bag of goals.

I hope then he doesn't [SwearFilter] off at the end of the season if a better offer comes his way.

Fans on here that say it " PC's money " " PC's club"

He spends his money he puts into the club under Through Barrow AFC. I dont understand how people are so thick to believe the money is just spent by Paul Casson. Its our [SwearFilter] expenditure!

If its HIS CLUB Does that mean we arnt apart of it anymore?

Does that mean we should just sack it off and support someone else?

Wilson imo came here as one of the best players according to comments on here but he hasn't shown much to prove that right, albeit maybe because of injury. I wouldn't have given him a two year contract, nor anyone else, and if there is a chance to get rid, I.e pay contract off then I would asap - move on and replace with better
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Aza you make some very valid points then go off on a rant often at a tangent and lose the point you made in the first place.

Yes we have the right to question yes we have the right to complain yes we are the club etc but ask yourself this what would happen without the owners money and if he hadn't stepped in? I reckon we would already be gone and we would have no club to support.

Yes continue to have a whinge you are entitled but don't launch a crusade at every little thing the owners get wrong, they are new to this so constructive criticism from a seasoned supporter like yourself please but moaning for moanings sake and continuous repetition of moaning about money doesnt really help the club you profess to love.

Some of this thread makes for tedious reading...

We beat a number of teams, including Stockport, to sign Wilson - of course we were gonna give him a two year deal. That shouldn't be under question. If he'd had a storming season and a league team came in for him, the same people who are criticising would be asking "why wasn't he under a longer contract?".

It's Casson's money. £30k for the total cost of Wilson is peanuts for him, and could still pay off. If he comes back and bags 10 goals at the end of the season, who's to say he won't get signed on again or snapped up by a bigger team? If he turns out to spend the season on the bench only to be released, who cares? Not Casson, because it's small change for him. Like losing £50 at the bookies.
Yes, the money is "being spent in our name", but again, who cares? People on other teams' forums saying "ha, look at Barrow wasting all that money on a crock" - I can't see any other reason that you'd be bothered. It's not like the money for Wilson could have been better spent on doing up the ground - the two aren't mutually exclusive.

Or is it that this is a thinly-veiled criticism of Edmo's judgement? If so, that's stupid. Who could have predicted that one of the best players in the division from the previous season would pick up an injury early on in the next?

Why not just chalk it down to bad luck, wish Wilson well, and hope he comes back fit and in form? Is a bit of positivity too much to ask?

This is the hit the club takes when a player is out with injury and it could happen to any player at any time. They will support him through his injury- no question.
We all wanted news of him coming back for pre season and getting fully fit for the start of the season. Get it sorted out once and for all, don't rush him back and then when he does start he'll hopefully start getting the goals that we brought him here for.

He was a known crock before we signed him, I don't know why anyone is surprised. As far as the future goes as a player at our level, forget it

It's not just PCs money, we still pump money in. He just pumps a load in too which pays for most stuff. It's still Barrow AFC spending it. We should still be working to a tight budget, cannot believe some peoples opinions, given our history of giving Fleetwood etc. So much grief. We are becoming absolutely no different to any of them!

On the note about whether or not we would exist if it not for PC, I 100% believe we would.

Players not getting paid,£300,000 debt,no money to rebuild stadium, pitch not being looked after,no shirts on time!

Some on here have short memories, yes we put money in but apart from the loyal fans (pre casson) where were we going? tony and his dad did a fantastic job just keeping it together (at their own expense) but don`t kid yourselves we weren`t in serious trouble!.people were not supporting the membership scheme and if they did (some )whinged about what they got for it!

yes it`s still my club but i`m under no illusions that tony his dad ,the directors and paul casson have kept it going!

You need to check your facts before you post garbage like this! Ant Wilson himself has said this is the first serious injury he has suffered its bloody unfortunate for us but more for the players himself im sure he's hurting more than anyone else that he's back under the knife i just hope he comes back strong and shoves these comments back down the throats of these idiots !

I dont know how many times this can be said.

Its cassons money until it goes into the clubs account.

From then on the money is under Barrow AFC's name and responsibility.

Who cares? The [SwearFilter] taxman cares!

Youll care if our commercial manager doesnt find his feet and we dont make the money to help balance our spending.

What have we put in place at the moment to balance the spending? A few extra sponsors? If that? A club shop thats still on its arse? A pre season where nothings [SwearFilter] happened?

I like the reference to the signing of wilson being like a bet.

What happens when youve bet away your wages and youve still got bills to pay at home?

Id love Wilson to get better and score us 20+ goals a year. Its just not going to be the case is it? Its been a bad investment , of course this wasnt to be seen at the time but its still a bad investment.

I have no idea what darren edmonsons got to do here. I just think your adding things in for no reason. Bizarre really.
