I don't think anyone "blindly" defends the club, it's glaringly obvious that some area's need to improve......perhaps it's just some don't need to point out every single mistake/downfall of the club because either you or one or two others are happy to repeat yourselves to death over it.
Here's a few suggestions - put yourself up for election at the upcoming Trust AGM, or if you can't be arsed doing something as positive as that, approach PC next time he's here and pass over your concerns to him in person, ask Pete officially to bring your questions up at the next board meeting rather than just snipe on here.
BTW, I think a lot of points raised by yourself & others are very valid, but by just posting the same things over & over again sort of proves the point that by simply doing that it's achieving nothing - hence the suggestions above.
A very good reply with some valid points.
"Every single mistake / downfall" If there is that many of them to point out that we have to repeat ourselves with them, then is that not seriously worrying to anybody? Maybe its a case of people just buring their heads in the sand and ignoring the problems we point out?
Remember when we used to point things out whilst under the old management? Other people didn't care about them until they became a serious problem.
There is nothing wrong with being over cautious . If you just sit back and pretend that Cassons money will be of an unlimited supply forever and that we don't need anything in place to support that then thats fine. You beleive that. Im sure in 15 /20 years youll still be defended anything the board does whislt we wait to see who is elected onto this 'New Ground Feedback Group' or what ever it was promised to be.
Ive emailed Paul Casson a few times. His replies havnt always come through but I understand that is due to him probably being very busy. Im sure also if Pete thought they needed bringing up then he would bring them up at meetings. A further suggestion to Pete would be to see if the board allowed time at future meetings to discuss what is talked about by the fans on here and through the town. A FANS FEEDBACK SECTION if you will.
As for me standing for election to the trust committee I really have no idea what I would do apart from what I do now. Id need an assistant and a competetive salary at least before I even began to take on such a role.
