The Darren Edmondson Thread
Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
TicTac do you have a crush on Edmonson?
These lads were signe by Edmonson and in pre season he said he wasn't going to splash the cash, he said he's going to pick the right lads with the correct mentality and attitude. And now he's using their lack of mentality as an excuse.
These lads are safe, they wont get sacked and they know it. They'll get a fresh start when some new bloke comes in who has more of a clue. Tricky for Edmo because he really should be goin through them however, his fate is in their hands and he's at their mercy. Could probably dp with PC stating that the players are playing for their contract. But it's not up to PC to motivate the players.
I wasnt at the game but I've seen a lot of loyal regular fans(home&away) state they've jad enough. So that's me throwin my Edmonson out, out there.
The football has been [SwearFilter] since he's been in charge with an apparent lack of tacticts/knowledge.
Thanks for scrapping us the league. All the best.

I'm not saying this to wind anybody up. However I do understand this May get people backs up so don't bite my head off please for an honest opinion.
I would! Have Baylis back tomorrow.
Scenario being a fresh start for all Bayliss, barrow and us. Because once over we [SwearFilter] loved the bloke. Give him a fresh start. Give him some money and give him some support and perhaps oversight (Austin straker) - the only name that springs to mind maybe there are more suitable.
Bayliss playing the young lads. Them being scared of him to a degree would be okay because those lads I believe would/could convert that into passionate performances on the pitch. (Andy burns like)
This would be my ideal situation.
I do want to state for what ever it may be worth that I bloody love EDMO I just feel he isn't the man for this plan. Sad and thanks for all the good times as player and gaffer.

Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
Many of these are the same players that's won us 7 games this season and it may not have been great football but we still battled and got results. Whilst they are Edmo's players I think their mistakes, lack of discipline and lack of effort have all contributed to where we are now and tend to feel a little sorry for Edmo being partially let down by them. Ever since the Fylde defeat and PC's 'one month to sort it' threat we look a shadow of how we were, the players don't look at all interested. I think PC is partly to blame and should ask himself if was it wise to come out with that in public, especially when before the Fylde game he said Edmo was guarenteed to be here till the end of the season?
Edmo is doomed as PC will look stupid if he doesn't sack him now and it will cost him big time - how much will Edmo (and possibly Meechan's) payout be when they're only 5 months into a 3 year contract? Casson surely won't be happy about losing that much cash but at least our position in the league is still ok at present.

No chance of that. He was here tonight to scout a Grimsby player for Millwall where he is working out his notice before moving to Man City. Still has a great love of the club.finbar17 wrote:I'm not saying this to wind anybody up. However I do understand this May get people backs up so don't bite my head off please for an honest opinion.

Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
When asked if he is still the right man to lead Barrow's National League campaign, Edmondson said:"In my mind, I am yes.
"When we get the injuries and suspensions back then we are very competitive at this level. Yes, there are flaws in our squad, we need to transform one or two and we need more goals in there.
[SwearFilter] Sake Edmo.Give it up! The football is shite and the players that have been brought in arnt good enough.
In assessing his team's display, Edmondson said: "I can't fault my players for effort and endeavour, what we're coming short in is a little bit of quality to win matches and to kill teams off.
"That was highlighted, three or four weeks ago, that there needs to be more goals in our team."
Weve scored about 3 or 4 goals in the last 4 weeks. So why keep letting it happen? Any other manager would be rolling heads, it is clear to see he is simply too soft with the players.

Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
When Edmo and Meeks go on Saturday , will that ginger fella who carries the balls and does a dance with the players before the match also go ?
Cant remember his name , or what he is actually meant to do ?

Of the two games I've seen of the last 3 there has been effort from the platers but it's the tactics that are all wrong - I do feel very sad for Edmo tho - I just hope now PC puts him and us out of our misery because if we lose a couple of more we are going to be in a relegation battle

Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
Our tactics are not to concede but isn't working.
We were 1-2 down and had throw in near Grimsby box which G Williams was obviously going to throw long as Grand had come up to Grimsby box, when Edmo shouted for him to go back in defence that summed it up for me .......

Agreed. There needs to be an ignore feature on here so I don't have to read the crap spouted from tikkers, John L, blue nige etc. Its ruining a once thriving forum. Story OutVan Der Nipper wrote:Toys out of the pram everytime someone doesn't agree with you Tictac.
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

I can take people not liking my posts, I say what I think and if people don't like it then that's tough, if I can't take criticism I shouldn't post, end of.
