Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
I think PC will keep Edmo in charge until he find the right man . I suspect the handover will be a quick process

Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
Tipping point March. By then hopefully we will have adjusted well with important new recruits, the manager will have learned a lot (it's his first season at this level remember), and no relegation danger. If there is real relegation danger then - time for him to go, and get new manager in. A scrapper to keep us up. No win situation for DE - if we went down with him or without him it would be all his fault.Jonty wrote:All this and you still think he deserves more time!? What's the tipping point. I'm doing so because in my opinion sacking the manager would be a hasty knee jerk reaction to a situation that is currently a bit frustrating but not as bad as it seems.
It was clear last night that we were the inferior team, pretty much in every department.
There were little cameos of positive football, but personally I don't think some of the players are good enough to play effectively in the top half of this league.
We are obviously inept in and around the opposition penalty area, and dangerously fragile in our own - 3 goals scored and 10 goals conceded in 3 games. There is no obvious link between the defence, the midfield and attack (what attack?) I've seen each of those last three games and Andy Cook is more and more isolated and seems to be winning fewer and fewer headers.
No good playing lump-it-up if he isn't performing.
Despite all these things I still think the manager deserves more time. You can't play tactics with weak links in the side.
My biggest criticism of him is his lack of being able to spot a player. Those brought in pre season (with one exception) have been poor, so it calls into question his judgement in a very important
I repeat what I've said before - not many of our squad are comfortable against teams in the higher end of this league. Just not good enough footballers. It's no wonder we play hoof ball - how can you play through oppos midfield if you don't have skilful enough players? Yes, I know DE has assembled the squad, and the choices in the summer have been his biggest mistake. I don't think I've ever seen a more disinterested Barrow player than Grimes. I don't really like singling out individuals in troubled times, but he is seriously poor.
Despite the criticism, I've seen some quite good football from our team this season, but silly mistakes at the back and a generally impotent attack are huge frustrations.
I'm sure the team are with the manager - read Andy Cook in the EM.
Let's beat Torquay

Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
Hwcwill not be sacked this season. So let's get behind him
Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
Edmo came out of his pre-match radio interview to be greeted by "Are you getting the sack today Edmo?" by a supporter who will remain nameless! He dealt with it really well and it made him Laugh. I wont tell you what his response was but it was very polite and whatever happens in the coming weeks I for one wish him well!
Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
Lets get this game in perpective.
How many games have this team won away from home?
In his assessment won 1 lost 3.
Lets see what happens next week.
I have seen the Headmasters draft report, Nice haircut but must use more gel, 4/10 .Darren you need to get a Atlas and move on.

Because I have none.
Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
We won 4-0, like we should be doing against a team like that. Get over it Pedro.
Popular side since '03.

Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
Think alot of the criticism of Edmo is that he couldn't get the players to play for him and give their all. Yesterday they answered that well and pretty much every single one of them worked their socks off and put in a shift of qualify and effort for him, that's all we ask.The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:Alot of people changing their minds on Edmo after yesterdays result.

The problem all season though, has been the lack of them working their socks off, putting the effort and a shift in consistently.
Let's hope this is not just another one off performance (ie. Eastleigh, Chester, Tranmere) and is followed by the same effort next week.
