Who would (will) be interim manager?

For all things Barrow AFC. Keep discussions civil and fair, we're all Barrow aren't we!

Even if we only carry on picking up points as infrequently as we are, we will still be safe enough. It is the crap football, some recruits who either are not good enough or don't care enough (individual opinion but mine is the latter) and a continued apparent lack of managerial ability (Mellor at full back against a team who are big and fast, come on!) that fans won't continue to support for much longer. Saturday will see the first gate under 1000 but it went be the last unless things change.

That's because people expect too much too soon.

When is the last season you saw Barrow AFC play consistently entertaining, quality football?

When was the last time the Barrow AFC compared the wage budget to the teams in the division above?
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.

If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Sucked in by the money talk.
As was once proudly stated ' money can't buy you love' or an overnight quality, entertaining team. However, that shouldn't be an excuse for lack of commitment.

Bang on. For the price we pay and what the club is allegedly shelling out I don't find it unreasonable.
Absolutely spot on. Anyone who has followed this club for as long as some of us knows that we have certain minimum expectations here. We are a no-nonsense, working class community, and we expect to see our football team display honest graft and commitment on the field. I would also say that to do this with a bit of flair is a minimum requirement. Barrow AFC have a heritage built on graft and flair. The current squad and management (apart from one or two exceptions, and we all know who they are) are not fit to wear the shirt.

Nothing to do with too much too soon but tired of watching half arsed football. If this is allowed to carry on then this 5 year plan will be going backwards

I know it's been said before, but for me, Darren has recruited too many players who are not right for this club, and where it wants to go. Too many players who's middle name is "inconsistent", too many players who have no composure when you need it, players who cannot dig their way out of a hole when things go against us. Too many players who can't seem to get fully fit. We don't have what is commonly termed "character" as a team. Shane Westley's rag, tag and bobtail outfit of 1999 was team of local kids, non-league misfits and three or four loyal pros literally thrown together by adversity. That team would put the current squad to SHAME when it comes to grit and character, and they were playing for virtually nothing. All managers, even the best ones, make mistakes with players, but DE has filled the squad with them. Luck has been against him for sure, the left-back situation has not helped him at all, but mostly it has to be down to poor judgement, and ultimately, that has to be a cornerstone of any manager's job.

I'm not being sucked in by anything...it is there for the world to see how much money he's said has gone into the playing side. Its a hell of a lot more than we've been afforded the luxury of and its been jizzed up the wall on mostly crap. How can we justify paying for Fofana then sending him back having barely touched a ball? Get your head out of the sand.

Jason walker (whether it was edmo or casson who wanted him) - people on here would class him as a good signing
Ant Wilson - people would class as a good signing
Joel Dixon - people would class as a good signing
Just to name three who edmo has brought in and imo been let down by. Whether people think edmo is good or bad the players are a huge problem and to blame because you cannot tell me that those above and others he brought in are playing to their full potential.

Is it not the job of the manager to get the best out of players ?

Yes it is, but I'm of the old fashioned opinion that when they cross that line on a match day it is only the players that can win a game

I also agree with that to an extent but .......

You must have been in jobs before where you go to work for a manager who is a useless [SwearFilter] and you wonder how he (or she political correctness fans) is in that role , it drags everyone down and results in poor performances - for that read Edmo at Barrow.

No if I am in a job and getting paid a wage (good wage at that) I do my best anyway because I have personal pride, obviously some at this club haven't. It's all irrelevant now anyway as edmo's gone
