Good to see us get somthing out a game without cooky scoring. We need other players to start chipping in and start sharing the load

Good comeback, there is a bit more steel in the team. Imps played into our hands in 2nd half by loading ball into the box, dealt with well by Grand & Williams. It remains to be seen how we could cope with a slicker side who play to feet.

He is really flapping today but still pulls off some cracking saves, hope it doesn't cost us.
Khan is bossing it today (again) Mofo playing very well also.
How do you know??

Given the right to reply and explain which is how it should be.boyliegladbach wrote:Ilford if your reference is to a lad arguing about vaping that was me, I vaped in first half. I asked them to produce the rules.
They admitted rules say no smoking but nothing about vaping.
I won and received an apology.

The goal Matt Rhead scored from his overhead kick is worth watching http://www.lincolnshireecho.co.uk/Watch ... tory.html?

Re: Lincoln City v Barrow AFC match thread
A game of two halves. The first half played by the Darren Edmondson X1 the second by Paul Cox's Army.
First 40mins was what we've been watching all season long, disjointed in defence, invisible in midfield and imprecise in attack. Interesting comment about Fofana above playing well. Colleague behind me reckoned Fofanas was the worst 45 minutes he'd ever seen in a BAFC shirt. Didn't think it was quite in that league but lets just say if he'd been a horse they could have shot him at HT for such a lame game.
Lincolns defence always looked creaky but even with the wind blowing in to their keepers face, it didn't seem to twig that lobbing balls in the box was actually in these conditions a good idea. Matt Rhead made a monkey out of the BAFC defence continually and his second (overhead kick) was as good as was surprising from a guy that looks and jogs like a Lincolnshire farmer.
Walkers first goal changed the tone completely coming it did within a minute or so of their second and so close to HT. Jason was my MOM and played like he was actually interested in extending his contract. Little Otis Khan was also a real handful and when ever he put a ball into the box it seemed to generate panic.
Second half a strange thing happened after 15 minutes of incessant Lincoln pressure we started to get more ball on the left wing which was partly a feature of the wind blowing against and moving the ball back in to the field of play when a long high ball was played. Chase it and you had a chance of winning it, which Jase did and forced a wild challenge which should really have been red carded.
At 2-2 the team's confidence levels visibly increased and they played like they had something to play for. This was despite Lincoln bombarding the Barrow box in attack after attack. When I say we fought we did just that and it really got quite tasty towards the end.
The referee added to the entertainment by not giving us a damn thing during the first half and then reversing this in the second when boots were flying, red and white shirts diving and bodies colliding. Even the most partisan of BAFC supporters would've admitted that several of these pitched battles could've resulted in penalties but the ref was having none of it, sending the Lincoln team staff and supporters into a bit of a paddy. We also had our chances on the break. NWAs tackle was dangerous and even if it was not a red he'd already been yellow carded.
So what was pathetic and pedestrian in the first half became tense and ...yes I'll say it...exciting in the second.
This was not a Barrow side that are going to storm this league. Cox will now be starting to get a better picture of his weaker links and we can look forward to January with interest. But despite the fact that this was mainly an Edmo team, in the end it was not an Edmo performance. It was more like a Bayliss backs to the wall performance in which we strangled a point out of the opposition and were prepared to go down fighting in the progress.
If this is a feature of a Paul Cox team then it will sit well with many of the more seasoned supporters of which I'm one. Some watching the game might say it was pretty horrible - but I loved it.

All day long this from Suffolk Blue

And Levi is spot on about the fans- understand bits of the moaning but sick of the stubborn carping. Last 20 minutes we were tremendous

Re: Lincoln City v Barrow AFC match thread
First look at the team for five weeks and under the new regime.Congrats to the lads on a fightback which probably wouldn't have happened under the previous leader. At 2-0 it seemed the same old story but to hit back straight away took us to half time with hope.We gave as good as we got in the second half and deserved a point.Need to see the NWA tackle again because at the time it didn't look bad but the guy he tackled resorted to strictly come dancing and that was it,red.
NWA was very good in his first loan spell before his injury and I am wondering if this higher division is catching him out (sent off at Guiseley bad tackle). He has time on his side but needs to tackle better.Joel was a bit dodgy with some of his handling but made an excellent save in the second half (tip over the bar).Fofana.....not for me.Doesn't do enough.
Anyhow that was a point gained today rather than two lost and hopefully we can kick on from this and go on a run in the league and FAT.

Re: Lincoln City v Barrow AFC match thread
Looked a pretty decent game and both teams could've added to the four goals scored quiet easily. Barrow very unlucky towards the end where Khan was waiting for the through ball into the box but their defender got a foot to the ball as Symo/ARH (?) tried to slide it through.
Rhead looks like the most unlikely (decent) striker you'd find at this level - Suffolk Blues description seems to fit him well
I thought it was a yellow at best for NWA (which still would've seen him go) but can quiet easily see why the red was given. Nick lost control of the ball and tried to make up for it but went in with at least one foot up and studs showing - simply can't do that.
It was a definite pen to us but I wish Jase would stop all the theatrics when getting these penalties, arched back and arms flying all over just make it look like he's trying to fool the ref. I said at the start of last season I can't ever remember him doing that in his previous spell with us, so it seems like it's something he's picked up from his time with Luton & York in the league.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: Lincoln City v Barrow AFC match thread
Just a word on NWA. Although the video suggests it wasn't as bad as it looked, you can't argue with the sending off. That said, I thought he had an excellent game up until then. There were a couple of times in the first half especially where he made great saving tackles due to his pace where another defender might have been left for dead. I think NWA would be an asset if we could get him permanently or on another half season loan.

Of course it's a red! How is it not???
Anderton's a really good player, and I hope he's here a bit longer so he's not just remembered for the two red cards. Just going off the highlights, and recent games I've seen, Cook could do with a rest.
