Re: Season Ticket
The main content of the programme is already reproduced for free a couple of days after the game in Ralph's HS Newsletter.
It all comes 'round again.

Which presumably Ralph himself receives electronically, although probably only certain text files rather than the whole programme?Nigel Bamford wrote:The main content of the programme is already reproduced for free a couple of days after the game in Ralph's HS Newsletter.

Re: Season Ticket
Both me and my Dad would be interested in an online programme for games.

Re: Season Ticket
I'd raised this idea several times over the years, We should offer some kind of away day package to visitors, Get together with several local attractions, hotels, restaurants etc & include the Lake District info, it provides visitors with a kind of what's on package, if nothing it leaves them with a better perception of the area & they are more likely to return instead of the typical view that it's too far away and there's nothing else to do while your there anyway!!rigsby68 wrote:
I recently ended up chatting to a Macclesfield fan who had brought his family up for the recent match. spent the morning at the zoo and then arrived at holker st not knowing about the fun day.he said it was a shame our club didn't do a combined ticket for the two attractions and market it to away fans.thinking about it there may be even uptake locally for it and room to increase the support this way as well.
Not all away fans come just for the game & leave

Its a good idea.
How much does it cost over the course of a season? Do they away fans get it at the game or do we send them down to every club? Who updates it every week?
Sounds expensive and with the way the club is run at the moment I think it would struggle.

Re: Season Ticket
When we asked about this 3-4 years ago, we got told that the printers wanted an extra fee for providing the digital copy as they are the ones who create it. This "fee" was deemed too uneconomic for the club to pay at the time.Steeley wrote:I think people would still buy them, I think people would read an online copy too.
In terms of price, surely it can be done for free? The programmes must have a digital copy for printing, we own the programme/content so the printers can't really hold us to ransom?
Personally I reckon online programmes are the way forward. Many clubs already produce them, some even at our level, and the print versions are just an out of date requirement to tick a box for the league. As for the sales price, there should be one (at least for pre match/matchday period), why should they give the content away online that they charge for the print copies for? However, the charge should be reasonable and not the same price as the print copy as there are fewer overheads needed to produce it.
In his very first public meeting at the Forum, Paul Casson talked about making the match day experience better for all fans, even those exiled in far flung corners of the world (he mentioned online streams IIRC). This would be a relatively small but simple to achieve step in that direction and can increase the matchday revenue too.

Re: Season Ticket
Cheers Ian, to be honest most season's isn't too bad, a lot of the problem this season was the amount of postponements which led to more midweek games. Handy option to have thoughspirit of 1990 wrote:I've told Emma about this topic Mike and she's keeping tabs on it, like I say, it could be a bit too late to do too much about it this coming season but at least Emma has something there to think about for the season after.glasgow_blue wrote: Hi Ian, i would certainly be interested. Working n/s at the moment so midweek games are out and was planning on not renewing my season ticket next season and paying on a game to game basis. Good idea imo

Re: Season Ticket
I am unable to attend most fixtures due to a regular weekend engagement. May I offer the suggestion of a non-Saturday season ticket. I would greatly appreciate this to be discussed at the upcoming board of directors meeting.
Re: Season Ticket
That would be a difficult one to work out as it's hard to predict the number of weeknight matches due to re-arrangements from postponements and cup clashes.Ray Johnstone wrote:I am unable to attend most fixtures due to a regular weekend engagement. Maybe the odd Friday night televised match to come into the equation next season also.Matty wrote:That would be a difficult one to work out as it's hard to predict the number of weeknight matches due to re-arrangements from postponements and cup clashes.Ray Johnstone wrote:I am unable to attend most fixtures due to a regular weekend engagement. Re: Season Ticket
Aii tbh if you're only going to be attending the odd mid-week games, you might as well just pay on the night.Matty wrote:That would be a difficult one to work out as it's hard to predict the number of weeknight matches due to re-arrangements from postponements and cup clashes.Ray Johnstone wrote:I am unable to attend most fixtures due to a regular weekend engagement. Re: Season Ticket
Half season ticket a definite yes from me. Had decided against renewing my season ticket this year with the inevitable occasional wedding/holiday etc making it uneconomical for me, and probably won't bother driving back from Lancaster for some Tuesday night games (especially after Gateshead!). But a half season ticket would be something I'd buy.
Well, Clive, it's all about the two M's - movement and positioning.

Re: Season Ticket
What seems to be emerging is that some supporters can't make every Saturday, others can't do midweek games, and others depend on which shift they are working. For these people a half season ticket covering, say, games 1 - 12 or 13 - 23 wouldn't work.
What would work, though, is a carnet - type ticket valid for, perhaps any five or any ten games, sold at a discount to the cost of individual admissions. Such a ticket could be sold either during the summer, with suitable incentives for supporters to buy early, or at any time during the season. It might even tempt exiles such as me into coming to Holker Street more often!

Re: Season Ticket
That was my original idea.Half a season ticket with access to any of half the home games. It may be too late for next season as Ian stated but Emma has taken the idea onboard. We'll see..............

Re: Season Ticket
^^^^This, The Austin Aztex over here offered tickets in blocks of 5, 10 & 15 etc as well as the standard ST, You use these tickets to any game or take a friend & use 2 etc, very flexible and accommodates everyone's differing needs.Steelworks End wrote:What seems to be emerging is that some supporters can't make every Saturday, others can't do midweek games, and others depend on which shift they are working.
