I have been left a sum of £100 by a recently deceased fan and I would like it to go on either 1 season ticket for an older lad or 6 £18 ones.
Marvelous gesture Elaine.

It's an FA requirement for no drinking at this level of football and above

Whereas I sent a tweet to the official account yesterday, heard nothing back and have to chase it up myself messaging directors personally.

great idea being able to sit on the terraces in the sun (if we get any ?) and have a few beers for the pre season friendlies while watching the game ! nothing wrong with that at all ! might get a few who never come enjoy it and come back ?

It's an FA requirement for no drinking at this level of football and above

NO Glasses Bottles or Cans outside of Clubhouses
Glasses, Glass bottles or cans containing alcohol are not permitted outside of the Clubhouse and MUST NOT be brought into the grounds. NO ALCOHOL is to be consumed in the ground or premises during the period of any match, except as may be governed by the terms of the club licence with regard to its own members, but, not withstanding such, NO ALCOHOL is to be taken or consumed outside the licensed clubhouse or any other authorised area during such match period or brought into the ground.

There was drinking on the terraces at the Conf South play off semi at Ebbsfleet last Sunday, which I was very surprised to see!

again sensible stewarding needed. if playing wrexham or york or other sides likely to come through giving it the large one and causing nuisance then no ale in ground. if boreham wood or colwyn bay roll in to town youve got little chance of disorder and club should try to up takings from punters by selling drink out of the tent by the crossbar. was in preston street on saturday and asked a few why they dont go holker st. sat afternoon is drinking time away from wife and kids. graft at work all week want to escape the daily grind with a few cold ones on the afternoon. drinking on terrace would entice these people out of the pubs and clubs and into the soccer ground. make cash on the extra gate and then the refreshments they buy while watching the game. win win. really think cassons should give it some thought.

Wouldn't work. So when the club says "no drinking at this game, as it's a big one", everyone's gonna go along with that and not kick up a fuss? And then even more so when fewer opposition fans turn up than expected, and people have been deprived of their drink?
Anyway, it's not the club's decision. And the FA are even less likely to grant a licence (if that's even a possibility) with the reputation our fans have. You were one of the "people should be able to chuck smoke bombs and get on the pitch if they like" crowd, right?

Why the [SwearFilter] can't people take two periods of 45 mins out of their booze-fuelled afternoons to watch a game? If they'd rather be down the pub, then leave them there.

This is about the 10th time you have made the same point they don't go because they can't drink whilst watching the game

It's not permitted at clubs of a certain level I'm lead to believe we've already been through this

The Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985 prevents:-

Drunken entry into a football ground (which, in practice, to be an arrestable offence includes disorderly behaviour);
the consumption of alcohol within view of the playing area including, during the restricted period (15 minutes before the start of the event to 15 minutes after the end of the event), rooms within the ground from which the event may be directly viewed;
the consumption of alcohol on certain coaches, trains and motor vehicles travelling to a designated football match;
the possession of fireworks or flares.
The Act applies to the following sporting events:-

Association football matches in which one or both of the participating teams represents a club which is for the time being a member (whether a full or associate member) of the Football League, the Football Association Premier League, the Football Conference National Division, the Scottish Football League or Welsh Premier League, or represents a country or territory.
Association football matches in competition the Football association Cup (other than in the preliminary or qualifying round).
The Act only applies in England and Wales.

Yeah, but stilltheman asked some lads down a working men's club and they said they'd rather drink on the terrace. And that's all that matters.
