But that's where we should be crediting Emma (or whoever the commercial manager happens to be) with enough intelligence not to become embroiled, and to be able to decipher the useful bits of info from the shite. What she's employed to do is to maximise revenue for the club, therefore it would be absolute madness in my eyes to ignore a free source of information such as this which gives an indication of what the customer base want. Of course it shouldn't be the only thing she takes into account, but it should be monitored without any question whatsoever in my view.spirit of 1990 wrote:
You and me both know, it can be hard to NOT reply to someone when that person says things we don't agree with (or even against you personally) probably one reason why it might be best for Emma to not read things on here as she'd end up with all sorts going through her head instead of concentrating on the other things she's employed to do. Just imagine if she'd become involved in ALL of the recent versions of what people want out of a season ticket!.

Just out of interest, this site had 1478 UNIQUE visitors in the last 24 hours alone. That doesn't include the likes of BAE where numerous people may be using the site but on a shared IP.spirit of 1990 wrote:Not at all Kieran, the forum really does only supply a small amount of views from the BAFC fan base. I honestly don't know where you get the "large section of her customer base" from.
Off the top of my head I can think of people aged in their teens, twenties, thirties, fourties, fifties, sixties and seventies. Women and Men. Exiles, Locals, Out of Towners, New to Towners, professionals, unemployed, those who criticise regularly and those who support the club blindly.
I'd say it's just about as good a cross section as you could possibly hope to get for a free source of information and gauge of customer opinion. I'm obviously going to be slightly biased and a cheerleader for the forum, but IMO a new commercial manager trying to gain insight into the workings of the club and also the thoughts of its fans would be crazy not to view it and take onboard fans thoughts, concerns, compliments and criticisms.

There are 3118 topics on here to look through. What a resource for someone in that position to be able to look through. The amount of money companies put into researching their target audience and the club get this for free.

Re: Season Ticket
Not saying she shouldn't take note of comments on the Forum but if Emma was to spend her time trawling through 3000+ topics there'd be more complaints about phones and emails never being answered, no merchandise being ordered, no sponsorship deals being chased etc., etc.

Also, just out of interest, how many individuals made one or more posts during those twenty-four hours?
Would the available stats enable the identification of how many individuals made twelve or more posts during the last year to date?

Oh, come on, I can't imagine anyone on here complaining about someone in the BAFC office allegedly spending lots of time on social media.Ilford Mouse wrote:Not saying she shouldn't take note of comments on the Forum but if Emma was to spend her time trawling through 3000+ topics there'd be more complaints about phones and emails never being answered, no merchandise being ordered, no sponsorship deals being chased etc., etc.
More seriously, I think we can trust spirit of 1990 to synthesise views from here and report in from time to time without anyone else having to trawl through for relevant nuggets.

The figure put up there wasn't put up as a suggestion. It was a figure to show how many topics are discussed on this forum.
Maybe thats what everyone at the club does if all of the above are failing to be done.
Id love to spend the day in that office and see what actually happens from 9 till 5 on a weekday.

Regarding the England games, I'll pass that onto Emma (despite what people think, she really doesn't read this forum much)
The shirt launch is being looked into, I've asked about that enough times myself - again, I'll bring this up with Emma.
The X Bar will be open for the England v Russia game as a trial, this will be advertised shortly.
Emma is also working on a close season events calendar which again will be advertised as soon as it's put together & finalised.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Re: Season Ticket
Can anyone tell me if we can do the Instalments thing yet?
Have decided to get 2 adult and an U11, one of the adults to be shared by Mrs H's once a season visit (if that) my various lads and my grandson . Therefore no way am shelling out for that in a oner.
I want to help the club, but still think it's dreadfully priced.

Re: Season Ticket
Could a section on the forum be set up specifically for commercial questions and ideas where the topic is locked after the initial post to prevent it descending into nonsense? An official reply could then be given for all to view. I know we shouldn't have to do this but if that's the concern...it does seem a shame to cut off this valuable means of communication completely.

Re: Season Ticket
I'd be more than happy to do this? Would be a good means of asking official questions, getting an official reply, and works better than e-mail in that everyone can see the questions and answers asked. Ian? Doesn't necessarily need to be commercial questions, I suppose any question would work, and would be like a permanent season-long Q&A.PRR wrote:Could a section on the forum be set up specifically for commercial questions and ideas where the topic is locked after the initial post to prevent it descending into nonsense? I'm probably being a bit stupid here but if someone asks a question and then the topic is locked how do others ask their questions?Ste Story wrote:I'd be more than happy to do this? Otherwise, thats fine by me Ste/PRR - a good idea.
