Finish in the top 8 with a chance of the playoffs to keep the interest going and punters coming through the gate.
Also a good cup run (how far we get obviously depends on the draw) and the quarters of the trophy.

Best shape for a play off push . Top coach , one of the best in non league right now . The team / squad looks good personnel wise and thier seems too be a good team spirit within the new line up. Defence wise we look tight, can't see us conceding many . Going forward , we have Hannah , Williams , Howarth, and if Cox signs Harrison and O'Connor and they play too thier best , we'll have a good all round squad . Looking forward too the season!

The owner seems to have right management in place to match his ambitions and those of many a supporter! We have a blend of some real quality signings with some young guns with plenty of hunger, desire and ambition that also look willing learners.
It's very easy to get carried away with thoughts of play-offs and promotion, good teams aren't usually built overnight but it does sometimes happen. Still think we are three or four quality signings off being title contenders.
But if we get that camaraderie in the changing room gel quickly as a unit and with a bit of luck injury wise a top eight finish isn't beyond us and you never know if we maintain the momentum come the business end of the season we might hold on to the shirt tails of the play off bunch.
Really looking forward to the season as it should keep most interested right up until the end of April 2017 and who knows maybe even beyond.

We'll have a good season. Definite top 10 and hopefully in and around the play offs all year. Not sure we have enough quality going forward to break the top sides down. Would love a cup or trophy run

play-offs. We have a good side...good temperament, proven winners and loads of experience. Reckon Cooky took the wrong move. We shall see second game up.

Top 5 somewhere - anywhere from 1st (unlikely) to 5th....
nowhere much in the Trophy - come on guys we only win it when the year ends in a "0" and it will be a 7 next year.
FA Cup - 5th round (yep 5th) we beat some-one rubbish like Carlisle and Morecambe in 1st 2 rounds, Tranmere in a replay in the 3rd, Liverpool away in the 4th (after which Klopp resigns), before losing away at Newcastle....
Hannah scores 43 goals including 23 penalties....
Diarra becomes a cult hero with the fans by scoring 12 goals from centre back including last minute winner at Anfield...
we keep 21 clean sheets...
we have 6 sent off - but avoid defeat in all 6 games...

It's a long shot but I've bet £40 on Barrow for this season. If they get promoted, I'll get £110 back and if they win the league I'll get £1100. It's certainly the first time since we've played in this league that I would have given even a second thought to having a bet. I think the sheer size of the Barrow team will cause lots of problems to other teams and Hannah is already scoring plenty of goals in friendlies. There are a few teams which look more likely to win but it's not impossible for Barrow.

You do realise we will all have cursed the aldershot game now and we will get tonked 5-0! Always happens when we get confident, its like the clubs way of bringing our expectations back to earth.
Roll on the first game and what we are really all looking forward to - Tranmere!

Tranmere: the new Luton 'not quites' or the Scouse Stockport?
FGR: short of the red meat needed to be league winners
Beware Wrexham and Barrow.
Still have a Conservative (and female) Prime Minister so every chance in the Trophy. (2017 adds up to a number ending in 0, too, don't forget)
Surely we will have another third round Cup game in the north-east? St James's Park preferred to the International Stadium or Croft Park.

[pendantry alert]Cameron didn't get appointed until May 11th - we won it whilst the post-election talks were still ongoing. I'd like to think Cameron, Brown and Clegg took a break from the political machinations for a few hours to watch us on ITV4. [/pendantry alert]Hadrian wrote:

We'll finish anywhere between 5th and 7th, too difficult to narrow it down really.

Can we have Bangor City at home in the FA Cup or FA Trophy, or perhaps even both? Be nice to extend a HS welcome to their shirt sponsor . . .

No, as they don't play in the English football pyramid.
