Overall happy that people are being realistic regarding ground developments and improvements. I never saw the need for a huge all seater all singing bells and whistles stadium that would make us as pretentious as man utd!
The HS end does however disappoint.. yes its crumbling, yes its built on a tip BUT.. Modern lightweight building structures should be the way forward? People say that its an end not used anymore..NO WONDER! its wet and miserable.. It is our home end, and we should be making roads into making it our home once more! Yes there is nostalgia and perhaps rose tinted goggles.. but its true, the atmosphere was brilliant and it MUST make a difference on the pitch for the players if they can hear the noise and excitement?
It doesn't have to be huge, it doesn't have to cost millions...
I have spoken to many architects on my travels (part to do with my work) and often talked about the so called issues regarding the "tip" and it is most definitely not “sumountable”.. a lot of whom have been involved in stadia and have had bigger challenges than ours to contend with.
Why do we just stop when there is a so called hurdle? lets get over or around them!
What do you mean, "make us as pretentious as man Utd " what a pathetic example.
and why is it pathetic? its my opinion and I'm entitled to it..

Re: Fans forum
Exactly what i expected re the developement, sounds like a lot of bluster and back tracking after the big promises. However it is what it is. I just wish he would stop coming out with the big promises. Looks like i'm exiled to the pop side for the foreseeable. It's not rose tinted spectacles re the HSE, it is our historic home end and if Paul Cassson was going to Holker St as a boy he would know it's important to many supporters.

If the HSE is built on crisp packets, surely it's only a matter of time before it's condemned?
Re: Fans forum
I love the enthusiasm of Paul Casson. He is clearly passionate about the club and you sense he would talk all night about Football. He's a fan at the end of the day. We are in a good place and the whole feel for things is positive. There's no in house fighting that you sense when you look into other clubs, but he can't build a football club on his own. The fans have to play their part by supporting what he is trying to do and backing the manager in building a successful team. As for redevelopment, things will keep moving along on that front I'm sure. Vision now is to extend the main stand 500 either side to a capacity of 2000. The Crossbar is the place where there's room to do things, a stand there one day?. The pop side will stay the pop side. I'm happy with this vision. Just want to see the fans coming back in now and backing Coxy and generating the kind of match day atmosphere that has been missing for far too long.

Re: Fans forum
sorry if this has already been answered but as it is at the moment is the ground eligible for us to play in league 2?
Re: Fans forum
No not at the moment, what you need is in here. Things like floodlighting, cctv, seating capacity and turnstiles are the things that jump out as not yet in place. On promotion, Clubs get some time to fulfil the criteria. I believe the new lighting system will meet the required standards.

Re: Fans forum
judging by that criteria we are miles off league standard in many areas
Re: Fans forum
Regarding the ground improvements perhaps Paul has come to realise what a money pit an ailing football ground can be. I still stand at the HSE as I have always done. I fully accept that prioritising the main stand expansion is essential for league football as well as decent floodlights. Other areas will just have to wait. As for those people that are criticising Paul perhaps you would like to chip in with your cash!!! The pitch and the team are doing pretty well as far as I'm concerned
Just say no to VAR
Re: Fans forum
Slight disappointment at the scaled back improvements to the ground now proposed by Paul Casson.
But still hopeful of eventually having a ground the town can be truly proud of!
We have still come a long, long way in such a short space of time and it certainly looks like we amassing a team that others will be very envious of!!!

Re: Fans forum
Ah yes, you need plenty of pounds to earn the right to criticise. Just like those criticising the Sports Direct work practices can only comment once they're as rich as Mike Ashley.Fazered wrote:As for those people that are criticising Paul perhaps you would like to chip in with your cash!!!
Re: Fans forum
We are closer to a return to the league than we have ever been in my lifetime. We will be getting some ground improvements even if not on the scale first envisage. Things that seemed a million miles away just two years ago. Can understand the disappointment re the ground but we also need to appreciate how far we have come in such a short time. We are getting there.
I wanna take you to an Away Bar
Re: Fans forum
What has Sports Direct and Mike Ashley got to do with anything thats happening or not happening at Holker St? My point is that Paul Casson has already put a lot of money into the club and made some great improvements but there are people on here who are totally negative and only criticise himAlhosk wrote:Ah yes, you need plenty of pounds to earn the right to criticise. You implied that only people with cash could criticise. I was pointing out that you were wrong, albeit with an extreme example.Fazered wrote:What has Sports Direct and Mike Ashley got to do with anything thats happening or not happening at Holker St? Re: Fans forum
I dont quite understand where the negative is coming from in all fairness. I made a negative comment a while back about Cox and hold my hands up and say i was wrong. It takes time to get everything correct in any business never mind a football club. I imagine if we had amazing bogs with posh hand drying machines and a stand fit for a king we would be happy. Yet if we had a shite team lingering down the bottom we would be critical about that?
Lose a swing and gain a roundabout. Maybe if folk were a bit more positive about the general outlook of the club rather than focusing on small areas they would see a pretty well oiled machine capable of more with time and patience.
I would focus on where we are in January with regards to the ground and concentrate on the squad. Lets be honest its about football and what you watch in the 90 ish minutes you are there for. If you are watching a winning team......happy days.
Maybe a few more would turn up if the negative vibes stopped, starting on here.
