Cult Players

In the spirit of the thread about the best Barrow players, who are the players that you loved but weren't necessarily the best?

I'll gladly start the ball rolling with Andy Green, Jimmy Brown and Peter Smith

Legends in my eyes, always.

Billy Gilmour and Robbie Vincent two ribena berries but worked their butts off.
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.

Somebody is likely to make a 'joke' about cult being misspelt/mispelled but...Humey was one of the best defenders we have had, certainly one of the hardest we have had and, in my opinion, up there with Jonah and McNulty as the best captains we have had in recent years (post-Wilkie years).

Andy Green, AKA "Raging Bull", was always good value :D

I would also add Chilts, another great character.

Capper for sure, limited as a player but barking mad and must've been a massive character in the dressing room.

Proccy, proper hard man in the middle.

Danny Wheatley, just fantastic.

Oh, and that striker we had that scored a couple of goals for us in the 80's & early 90's :D

I could go on but it looks like I'm picking a Ray Wilkie team.....
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Definitely Eddie - goalkeeping centre half par excellence, and a genuine character, still held in high affection twenty years later. I don't remember ever seeing Bobby Knox play, but surely he would qualify? My own personal fave cult player would be Kevin Proctor.....the last of the hard men.
