Re: Cult Players
Andy Whittaker, 1 season wonder maybe but what a season he gave . Might be wrong but I'm sure he got 40 odd in all competitions. I work with his brother John who was no bad player himself. Andy's currently working for BAE at Samlesbury and has fond memories of Barrow, just that Southport offered him a deal which he couldn't turn down

Yeah top performer for us; tell him we have fond memories of him too. Players are no different to any other contractors, you get hired and fired and you move around to maximise income while your skills are in demand.glasgow_blue wrote:Andy Whittaker, 1 season wonder maybe but what a season he gave . We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Agree, the difference of £50-60 a week more with much less travelling was a no brainer really. I'll pass on your best wishes WGWintergreen wrote:Yeah top performer for us; tell him we have fond memories of him too. Re: Cult Players
Bob Ledger signed from Mansfield got 2 goals on his debut do not think he scored again.
One of my favorites Jimmy Mulvaney in our league days, sadly no longer with us .He would score pick the ball up no hugging just back to centre circle and ready for kick off again.
Also liked Andy Whittaker I am sure he was a member of equity with the number if penalties he bought.

If my memory serves me correctly Ledger was signed with a broken leg so didn't make his debut for quite a while. Probably explains his lack of apps/goals.Pedro wrote:Bob Ledger signed from Mansfield got 2 goals on his debut do not think he scored again.

No one mentioned Mark Hubbold yet? Absolute legend for us, provided the assist for Cowps' fastest goal ever and a great lad off the pitch as well.
