After the mega-efficient dismantling of Lincoln on Tuesday this was the baddest of bad days; it was disappointing to set up at home with just one striker; then we saw a team who "played" the referee to the max and the guy was so weak and incompetent that he fell for it time after time after time. What a shocker . . . he ruined the match. And to top it all, we fell asleep on set pieces and didn't defend at all like a team with one of the best defensive records in the league. It has to be said that 28th January 2017 is one to forget. Tomorrow is another day but does it ever arrive?

Let's not get hung up about the ref today, he spoilt the game no doubt, but FGR are ahead of where we are, they were smarter, more cynical and look a side that thoroughly know their jobs.
We battled hard and had the game been allowed to flow, we may have been able to get a head of steam up and perhaps put them under pressure.
This is still a team that is developing and learning, we will have to ride our luck a bit to get into the play offs, but we have shown we can compete and beat anyone on our day, we just need to do it more consistently.
We deserved something out of this debacle of a game, but if you switch off at any level you get punished. Onto next week now and another tough game....

Got to disagree with that Jonty, every justification in cry arsing about that idiot today. FGR realised early on how he was going to run the game and played him all the way through. I can't remember a FGR player just going down under a foul (half of them weren't fouls anyway) and getting back up, each one went down and rolled around like a floodlight had just landed on him and that idiot fell for it every time.

I think the formation wasn't right but I don't think you can fault the players effort which was good all the way through even under the total shambles of officiating. Another game where Akil Wright looked a real prospect, if Fleetwood release him I'd love to keep him here.

The two pieces of luck that went our way were the penalty, it didn't look at all like a penalty and when that horrible little [SwearFilter] roughed up the penalty spot and it all kicked off with Rowe (I think) pushing one of their players to the ground....right in front of the liner. True to form, they couldn't even get that right and Rowe was lucky to get away with a yellow.

Very disappointing to give three goals away from two free kicks and a corner.

Good to see the attendance up to a reasonable level and a pretty decent atmosphere...pity we had to have a total incompetent referee to spoil it all.

The worst referee I have seen. However, I wasn't happy with Bennett up front on his own. He was totally isolated and getting nowhere for the first twenty minutes. We were given a lifeline by the referee at 1-2 (another poor decision), but at the end of the day if you can't defend corners or set pieces you won't win the game.

We can do little about the refs performance in training next week, but we do need to be better at defending the set piece because we were managing much of their threat from open play. Not too despondent because they are a decent side and have been building for years at this level.

Tempestuous game - disappointing to concede from three set pieces but on the balance of play I thought we were worth a draw. Mark Cooper continues to be worthy of an unpleasant skin condition.

Thanks for that agree with everything Cox says clearly telling Casson that to have any realistic chance of the playoffs we have to have some kind of investment in the squad, if we fail short then so be it, but we are nearly there I'd say we are short of 5 top players then and only then can Cox have a chance.
