If we can take 6 very easy points off the league leaders I think the 18 are more than capable of making the playoffs

I think we will make the play offs, the last 2 performances suggest we've turned a corner and we're back in the trenches battling again.

Who knows!! All we can do is keep plodding on with our ultra light squad, punching well above our weight.
There will be plenty of teams not looking forward to playing us if we do make the play offs though, Lincoln to name just one of them!!!

Actually whilst I believe take off may be yet possible, I don't think its probable. My gut tells me we'll end up 7th-9th where many of us predicted (relatively optimistically) before a ball was kicked this season. No doubt this will be the cue for a very long thread on why we have under-performed so badly.

No; not this season. We have 'developed' a habit of collecting one point instead of three and not finshing teams off.

All this talk and obsessing about the play offs is ridiculous. As Mark said we are punching above our weight as a squad - that's not to say our best 11 couldn't get us there, but there's no chance of doing it on a threadbare squad. Most folk would have taken a top 10 position at the start of the season, I don't think much has changed, in fact our success may have hampered the clubs development a little as focus has been shifted from developing to competing.
If we can overcome Kiddy tomorrow I fancy us for a good tilt at the Trophy again... whatever happens from now on, we are in a far better position that we would have been without the intervention of PC x 2

Promotion would be a castastrophe at this stage in the development of the club.
To enter Div 2 with a threadbare squad and fail to impress would result in diminishing attendances. We haven't been able to pull people in this season. God only knows what kind of crowds we'd get being at the bottom of Div 2!

Consolidate - strengthen the squad - SIGN a couple of BIG NAMES (spend some money for f**k sake) - improve the ground. Market the club. THEN attempt promotion!

Agree with almost all of TTK's post but must dissent from the BIG NAMES.

The incoming strategy by Cox and Co to date has been generally good so far and big names can have a tendency to disappoint. Players on the up, rather than players on their way down, please.
