I think this has been in the post for a while and as sad as it is to lose a player of such quality, it would be foolish and lack ambition if he didn't want to test himself in league 1, it remains to be seen how much money we get to how good a deal it is for Barrow and then it depends on how it is reinvestment in terms of replacements.

In 50 plus years I've seen around 1000 players wearing the Barrow shirt. 990 of them have left,the club and fans are still here, We could add the likes of Mike Wearmouth,Barry Lowes,Glen Skivington and Kenny Lowe to that of George Smith as players we lost to the benefit of welcome cash. At least Jordan is not defecting to a rival.

When we were promoted to Div 3 in 1967 we sold our best player to Portsmouth for a record fee of 20 grand. Nobody complained in those days, fortunately forums were not around and if there were any cynics they only expressed their sad views to a few mates in their local.

And George Smith was a hell of a lot better player than Jordan Williams will ever be and was a much greater loss to the team then than Jordan will be to the current team although as the only left sided attacker will have to be replaced. However, it's while it's understandable that Williams might go at his age and produce a bit of money that SHOULD be used to strengthen the team if you add Livesey's release and even Hannah's, it starts to be a little bit worrying (for some of us, anyway!).

Its been clear that Jordan Williams has been going since January. If he's going to go to a League One club then there is no way in hell that we could or should stop him. No club holds onto their players in the face of a bid from a team two divs higher.

Now losing Andy Cook to a National League side for sod all. That WAS a travesty. Losing Grant Holt all those years ago for bug*er all. That WAS a travesty.

Lets see what Paul Cox does with the money before we start discussing the inevitable decline of the Casson/Cox era.

Whilst it is slightly concerning that key players are moving on, let's just see what happens in the next few months.

If we manage to replace those that go with players who are just as good, if not better, than great. However, I think one of the key problems from last season was having a big enough squad for this level. We don't want to be in the position of not having enough subs on the bench again.

Agreed, the squad looks pretty thin at the moment, weaker rather than being strengthened. We will have to wait and hope that we add a few quality players over the next few weeks.

Cox has previously said that any players brought in would have to be better than we already have, so I'm assuming we will have a class Centre back, full back, & winger to replace livesey, beeley & williams, now is the perfect opportunity for casson n cox to show their real intentions

Why's it worrying, it's still may, many players at clubs still on contract still for a while so can't be signed. We will strengthen. Calm down.

Heard Lincoln have thrown their hat in the ring. Now there's a club with a bit of recently acquired cash that needs spending.Wherever he goes I hope we have the foresight to include a decent sell-on clause.

When Jordan eventually does go don't expect to be told what the fee was, these things don't seem to be disclosed very often outside of the Premier/Championship leagues. We just need the money to be ploughed back into the playing budget, that's got to happen if we are to keep progressing.

Picked up cheap, sold on at a premium. Good business. Did well for us at times. Desperados will turn anyone moving away into end of the world and another opportunity to stick the boot in.

A deserved move, though was very inconsisent over the last season, head turned or not. Theres plenty of talent going to be floating around on loans and/or frees in the coming weeks. Replaceable.

I would rather keep our better players we should be selling the dream of being a league club but I still need convincing our chairman really means it only time and some quality signings will we really know

Players will always be the look out to further their careers , if the club benefits financially then great, always be more players available to replace the departures.
