Those Dundee United fans comments are a wind up and they want rid of him. Think he's still got a year left on his contract with them.Mark Johnson wrote:https://twitter.com/bbccumbriasport/sta ... 6863432704
Read the comments from Dundee fans below the tweet, could be a good signing but you never know - he could be trialling at a few clubs.

Re: Blackburn
Thanks for your kind words... I was very very impressed at how many turned up yesterday!! You guys are a credit to your troubled but brilliant club (your owners want shafting) I'm absolutely gutted and embarrassed at the way these youths acted today, they are not fans, they don't belong at our club and do not representTugay1875 wrote:Rovers fan here.
Firstly, thanks for today. It was my first visit to Barrow and I felt very welcome and enjoyed your ground and your people. We had a good chat and a few drinks with some of your fans before the game, really nice people who had a real interest in our club and we exchanged stories that would've gone on for much longer had it not been for kick off.
You gave us a good game. It was only a friendly and we seemed to treat it as a pass and move exercise as expected, however all of your players seemed up for it and forced us to really work hard. In particular, the lad who scored for you, he seems to have something about him - seemed to have the movement and physicality on top of the ability required for league football. Twice he dropped the shoulder and made Charlie Mulgrew, a Scotland international look Sunday League level. Also, your Chris Samba-esque centre back stopped a lot of our balls from going through, I was impressed with him - the warrior that every time requires in their spine. With a bit of refinement I'm sure you can challenge for promotion.
As for the second half trouble, I was very shocked with the group of 15 or so young lads next to our lot, especially with the game being a friendly. They were singing/goading/gesturing for all of the first half to which our lot ignored. Second half, they threw a couple of cans over trying to provoke us, and one of our lads (idiotic and inexcusable move might i add, and got some strong words from our lot as he was collared out) ran over after an object (apparently glass even though I thought it was a coke bottle or something seeing it out of the corner of my eye) hit a lady stood with two very young kids. His reaction obviously flared things up even more with your lot who were itching for a confrontation and and probably didn't watch a minute of the 90, however we were all very impressed with the Barrow blokes who ran over to sort it out - commendable act supported by everybody in the stadium but the aforementioned idiots. Other than the one lad, the Rovers fans didn't react, however if it was a league game I fear that it would've badly kicked off uncontrollably, as we would've had more fans including a section of rowdier people who don't ever seem to travel for friendlies/smaller games. Due to this, you definitely need to nip this in the bud before the league season kicks off as away fans in the league will always contain a contingent of drunks/similar mindset people. They stuck out like a sore thumb - half of them wearing caps (including two in bright red ones) and all in typical football 'clobber' looking no older than 18. Without zero tolerance policies, idiots run wild and younger people can find themselves getting 'inspired' and involved. Every club does have its idiots, and the way your fans reacted was brilliant, so take heart from that.
Despite that blip, it was a really enjoyable day of football. Your badge alone gives me a soft spot for you, and I wish you all the best for the season ahead.
. the good people of barrow! All the best for your season ahead and thanks for an almost Brilliant day...

It was by far the worst violence i have seen yesterday. Awful group of kids who need to be sent down for their behaviour. There was never that kind of thing in the 80's or 90's so why now? Ban them all.
Really think we should be looking at all seating in the ground now as well, it would stop these gatherings.

Unfortunately, I was unable to attend today's season opener due to a regular weekend engagement, but it is no surprise to read these witness e-mails. This is the first generation that spent their formative years under Blair. Only time will tell what lies in our future.

Didn't get to the game (I don't do friendlies).Bluey VIII wrote:The club has a great opportunity to sort this out early now....it's the same kids week in, week out, causing the trouble so why not ban the lot now??
Fair play to the adults who said enough is enough and dealt with it, but it's only a matter of time until someone is seriously hurt! Either by a flying bottle, or an away support gets hold of one of these kids and gives them a real doing over.
It's an embarrassment on the club, and it's an embarrassment for Barrow generally. Get them banned now before the season starts!
Totally agree with your above comment. I've said this before on here and I'll say it again:
The segregation arrangement on The Holker End DOESN'T WORK!
What will it take to get the club to realise this?
Serious Injuries followed by lawsuits?
The ground closed?
Wake Up, Mr. Casson!
Forget the culprits who are responsible - the segregation arrangement is inadequate.
Nip it in the bud and prevent any kind of trouble starting in the first place. Away fans should be housed in another section of the ground - Crossbar End - the old argument concerning the corporate dining people not wishing to walk past visiting fans is laughable. And ultimately could prove to be costly!

No need for all seating. New Segregation Arrangements is what's needed.orpheus wrote:100% with you on thisAtlee wrote:It was by far the worst violence i have seen yesterday. The 'gatherings' you speak of don't need to be of a violent nature.
Shrewsbury Town are going to be the first English club to have a standing section in their all seater stadium - many German clubs + Celtic already have one - for their more passionate vocal supporters.

Re: Blackburn
I disagree. Why should a group of attentions seeking brats change the way people watch football. Now, when standing terracing is being looked at as an option to be re-introduced once more should we go to all seating. Ban them from the ground and don't give them access to transport to the away games either. There's no excuse, if there's video evidence use it.orpheus wrote:100% with you on thisAtlee wrote:It was by far the worst violence i have seen yesterday.
