Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
Personally I was gutted when Cox left. The best manager we've had for years. Have to say I'd be more gutted, much more gutted if Casson packed up and left, because with it would go any realistic chance we have of promotion to the football league.
I don't even read Pedros posts anymore. Utter rubbish.

On the playing style front, do you think when Ogden had his role change he wasn't spoken to about this by Papa Cass (shudder)
I think the reason that Cox went this week has more to do with the style of play than the cash to spend.
Ogden moved up on more money, more responsibility, Papa Cass (shudder) asked why can't we play more attractive like those fella I see on Casson jnrs FIFA Xbox game? Ogden mentions that we can so Papa Cass ( shudder) speaks to Cox about it - this is the straw that breaks the camels back.
I'm far more upbeat about things now. Can't wait to see us play like Barcelona this afternoon
All hail Papa Cass (shudder)

Found it interesting that PC said player outlays are ESTIMATED to be up 30 percent up on last year. As the man with the purse strings and allegedly a high flying successful businessman does he not KNOW?
It would also be interesting to see if PC knows the percentage increase in the amount of money the club has made by SELLING players, a fact that he fails to mention.

I appreciate that change is difficult especially when we have enjoyed unprecedented success, however seventh is not good enough and so we must change.

7th is not good enough? Its the clubs highest ever finish!thegaffer77 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 1:28 am Good response crom the boss.
7th is not good enough.
Puts the emphasis back on COX. Did he do well enough? Was the style good enough...nope.
Cox is not all sweetness and light.
Cox didn't do well enough? hahahahaha. Of course he [SwearFilter] did! 3rd round of the cup, brought in players that were sold on at a big profit, highest ever non league finish.
The blind loyalty to the owner on here is embarrassing.

Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
Probably the worst thing about that statement. 7th would ensure the play offs this season. So in turn the play offs aren't good enough, but the aim of the season is to earn promotion.HenneysKnee wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 7:10 am No pressure on the new gaffer "seventh is not good enough"
The philosophical differences part is worrying also. The manager manages the team, runs training, picks the side and finds the players he wants. The owner shouldn't be interfering in that.

Spot on. Seventh at this stage of the season with the start of a potential winning run (now blown out of the water) not good enough? The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 7:16 amProbably the worst thing about that statement. 7th would ensure the play offs this season. Get real Mr. Casson. We are not talking business here, we are talking football!
Shows how little grip the man has on the reality of the game.

Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
You called for him to make a statement he made a statement, you said he had no ambition - he's talked of the ambition.
Some people won't be happy until he's gone so they can say "told you so".
No doubt some on here plus the evening mail and radio Cumbria will peddle the same line - the owner didn't give the manager enough money so he left. Maybe he gave him plenty but he spent it all.
As for the 30% being an estimate, how can it be anything else there are so many variables players will arrive players will leave throughout the season.

I can understand the rhetoric but not the philosophy. I can say that I'm going to walk to the moon, it doesn't mean I'm ever going to get there, or does it!! Perplexed is what I am at the minute.

Good shout Bingo......looking like a 2 man vendetta to get Casson out and send our club into oblivion. One talks total crap, the other has some good points but is a pain in the arse.Bingo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 7:45 am You called for him to make a statement he made a statement, you said he had no ambition - he's talked of the ambition.

So putting it all together Manager has blown the budget and wanted more. Oh what Dave Bayliss could of done in this situation.
Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
Appearance fees, goal bonuses, competition bonuses etc. will be the reason for the estimate.barrowfan wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 7:06 am Found it interesting that PC said player outlays are ESTIMATED to be up 30 percent up on last year. Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
It wasn't good enough for Lincoln. He obviously wants us to win the league. If our budget was the same as theirs why shouldn't it be us playing in the Football League this season and not them. I presume that's where he's coming from. If it were my cash I might be asking the same. The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 7:12 am7th is not good enough? Unfortunately us supporters realise the equation isn't quite as simple as that.
If Cox isn't good enough the next manager best not get too comfy.
Looks like we aren't going for a leisurely 5 course meal and a sherry in the drawing room, more a McDonalds and a cum shot before News at 6.

Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
I'm not having that, Cox clearly missed out on quite a large number of players that he wanted. Of course that sometimes happens but in this case I think there's more to it than those players simply turning us down for their own reasons. I've no doubt whatsoever that we're still paying very decent wages. I'm happy to accept that we're spending more than last season, but not on the players Cox really wanted.spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 25, 2017 11:59 pm I think we can assume that the wage bill rose because Coxy got the players he wanted, it was his budget, he used it as he saw fit but he wanted more players...where does that end?
Was it due to those players being out of reach of even the current budget? Was it due to too much interference from above having a say on what players we brought in? Was it due to Casson not answering his phone so players went elsewhere? I'm not sure, but there's no way Cox got the players he wanted.

Re: Statement by Paul Casson.
Correct. People who have a basic understanding of non league football know that it takes more than saying you want to win the league to be able to win the league.PRR wrote: ↑Sat Aug 26, 2017 8:11 am

Going around saying the clubs aim is to get promoted amazes me. The League gets more competitive each season and if the club went up it would be a complete nightmare.
All it takes is a shared vision between the owner, those who work for him and those who pay the entrance fee each week. If you have that and employ the right people in the right areas then the futures bright. You can amend that vision along the way should needs be.
Going along saying that the clubs aim is promotion without any real idea of idea of how to get there is hopeful at best. In this day and age there are literally 100's of project managers and planners around who could draw something up for everyone to get behind and pull the club forward.
At the moment its " Lets win the league, somehow, hopefully , what do you mean weve sold all our best players?, wheres the CEO gone?, a new squad from scratch?, Cox has resigned?, oh well 7th wasn't good enough anyway"
