Read and re-read Casson's statement and the only conclusion i can make is that anything less than promotion while playing free flowing attractive football will be deemed a failure. Good luck with that at this level.

Yes it's his way or the high way - there are a lot of bosses, CEOs Managers etc. like that, in fact I would say it is the norm, they want results and they have to do what they think appropriate to achieve those results.

Now I am sure Paul has made mistakes but on the saving and running of our club he is doing a pretty good job. Looking at the posts, apart from the usual suspects, many other people are glad he took over the club and we are all enjoying the improvements this has brought. Paul Cox, a Casson appointee, has done well and I am sorry he has gone, now we as happens in football we need a new manager so at this time let us fans support our club and get behind the team this afternoon.

I realise that WG and i welcome the statement ( even though it makes a mockery of the no further statement on this matter statement ) but what happen's if the new manager comes in, assesses the squad and believes the best way to achieve promotion is playing the same style of football as Cox? He goes on to achieve promotion, is this deemed success or failure by the owner, as the manager has only hit 1 of 2 targets? Very few sides win promotion from this league playing pretty football

You're quite right mate. I knew as soon as I asked for a statement it would get picked apart....sentence by sentence, as Paul probably did.
Question by all means but the statement being called lies is another thing!

Regarding the last part of your post I quoted, that's pretty much blob on. I work in the yard and people (who usually don't read the forum) are more than happy with things, it's not ideal or perfect, but what is....apart from Pedro!!
