In talks with Rugby about moving to Craven Park that's why Dave Sharpe came back to the rugby board-probably not true but it's as good a rumour as any !

Sometimes speculating isn't what it appears
Do you really believe that? The accounts are available to view and if he has off set the losses to other parts of his business empire then that is a normal practice - it's still his money he has earned in his other businesses. If I was buying a football club to run it down and then sell the land for houses, I wouldn't be spending money on the pitch / floodlights / crossbar / boiler etc. I'd allow it to get in such a state that the league didn't allow us to play games on it, I'd sign a load of local kids on £20 a week. I'd allow footballing debts to increase to the point that we were relegated, to the point where only a couple of hundred people were even interested in the football. I would then sell the football club to the trust for a £1 and retain ownership of the ground and then sell it off. This isn't what he is doing, he has invested in many ways and it's cost a fortune.

People are more [SwearFilter] off that promises have been made and it looks like we are going backwards, but we would need to go much further back to be in the same state we were in before he arrived.

I also agree with a former member of this forum that we need to spend money on putting things in place to generate money, I have been saying this myself for a long time, so that when the day comes when Paul Casson decides to leave the club can survive and thrive.

Could be.

Mind, how long did the plot over the road take to come to fruition? Hardly an instant cash bonanza.

Like it or not MM has the job and so let's give him a chance. He has been given leave to hire an assistant and 1 other plus 3 players. That is new 5 salaries to pay, cheap? I don't think so.
OK we have had a bad start to the season and the club have reacted to this and so we can only have patience to see what develops.
As for selling our best players, last January etc etc water under the bridge and get over it
Its not a case of not enough money being spent. I think a lot has been spent. Its just not being spent on things that will progress the club forward.

It worked well last season making investments into the side with a decent manager. Now the manager and players have gone and its looking unlikely that any of the current crop will be progressing. Part of the success story around Bennett, Anderton and Williams was down to having a great exposure in a side performing well at the top half of the league.
I don't think there will be many interested in any of the Bayliss like signings brought in by Cox or Ogden (depending on which official statement you read).

December last year everything was rosy with a good squad top of the table FA Cup 3rd round to look forward to and it looked like the club was on target to reach the owners ambitions (whatever they may be). Unfortunately thats all gone now and its back to square one. Take away the transfer fees from last season, and ask yourself are we really in a better position now than we were shortly after Edmo failed his 5 point Strakergram and got booted?

Comes down to what the plan is for the next 5 years. What is the plan? What is being put in place to help the plan reach its target?, Is there a plan B if after 5 years it hasn't been met? , What can the fans do to assist in the plan other than just be expected to turn up and spend money on match days?

Throwing money at it and hoping it works out in the end is extremely dangerous. The clubs losing fans, its lost a very good manager, its lost its better players, and seemingly its lost its way.
Next 5 years?
I thought the plan started when Paul Casson took over the reins of the club. I think we're now in the 3rd year of the plan. HIS plan was to be in the EFL within 5 years. 2 years to go...

What does this plan consist of?
Has Casson ever showed us this plan?
What has been put in place to meet that target?
What improvements can be made to this plan?
What has been learned because the clubs clearly going backwards?
When will there be an update on the plan so the fans can see its progress?

There is no [SwearFilter] plan!

Theres a hope! A hope that everything magically clicks into place after a few cheques are signed. We can all say we will buy a better car or a bigger house but you actually have to put things in place and think about how you are actually going to achieve it then lay down some implementation! You don't just wake up one morning in a 5 bed roomed house with a Porsche on the drive.

It actually looked possible this time last season and as soon as 2017 started everything fell apart like a mad mans baked Alaska. No matter how far some fans heads are in the clouds its going backwards. This appointment is a backwards step. The club even put in its statement better qualified people lost out on this job.

Its quite clear the current set up have the best intentions and do genuinely want whats best for the club in the long term but until they actually start taking it seriously then the club will just keep going backwards. If its becoming too expensive then just say. Fans can then join on at the same level as the management then. Raising expectation raises peoples belief which soon turns sour when expectations aren't met.

Surely now Cassons learned not to start saying hes going to do x,y and z only to wait 3 years and have nothing, to then go on to mention the next "development" as if fans would just forget about all other promises.

I and about 299 others heard Paul Casson announce his 'Plan' at The Forum shortly before he received the vote to take over the club.

How could he show you the plan?

He proclaimed it: To be in the EFL within 5 years.
Let's see if it happens...

Complete evasion of all the questions there. Well done. Ill just ask again because you and 299 others were there so between you , you'll surely be able to answer all those questions.

Would you show anybody else your action plan if you were in business?

Other teams do. Well other teams actually have a plan then relay it on. (Fylde 2022) Realistic plan, on track, fans know whats going on. Did Fleetwood sat on their arse and take 3 years to replace some floodlights? It took FGR lots of money and lots of attempts to get out of this league but they had plan and stuck to it.

How can fans, players and the club work towards a brighter future if no one knows how to help out to achieve success? How can fans commit to meeting targets if they are just expected to turn up and spend money and thats it.

You've missed the questions again btw. Tell us the plan if you know it! Have a craic with the 2-9-9. How is it all looking? Are we all on target?.

I can only assume a duff manager appointment , people jumping ship left, right, and centre whilst the club is languishing in the lower third of the table means everything is right on course.

I have. To be in the EFL within 5 years. According to Paul Casson.

I'm not really concerned how he achieves it. But I'll be happy if he does! :D

That is not a plan. That is a target. You have a target and then plan on how you intend to meet it.

Saying you want something is totally different to saying how you are going to get it.
Submarines don't just come out of the DDH and sail away. They take decades to plan, manufacture and test before they are ready.

So I'll ask a 4th time

What does this plan consist of?

If you'd been at The Forum you could have asked him: 'Paul, that's a target - what's the plan?'

If its been over 3 years since the target was set and there has been no updates on it then that is a shambles. There really is no plan, just a statement saying where the owner wants the club to be.

If you open up a shop saying " I think we will be taking £1000 a week in in 2 years" Thats great. You won't achieve that simply by putting blackjacks in the shop window and hoping they sell though.
