Re: Shaw Lane v Barrow Match Thread
Just shit today no fight in that team being led by a manager that from the outside seems too soft/nice.
Bauress is not good enough.
Need wingers in ASAP!
Ebbsfleet away next could finally start getting beat by more than 1 now.
Saw this result coming still hard to take though.

Re: Shaw Lane v Barrow Match Thread
He went to a 5-3-2 and played Barthram at LWB. Then just went to a hit and hope 5-2-3 narrow with 20 mins left.
Hughes apparently is on his way out of the club from what I understand. His issue not the managers fault.
What is the managers fault is that he sticks with this 5-3-2 that has only worked once or twice out of the 12+ games we've used it. We end up with 2 strikers upfront and 8 players sat deep behind.
However our recruitment this summer was awful, not many creative players that can play in wide positions so we're very limited as to what we can play...
Personally I'd rather see him try a 4-4-2 narrow diamond to at least vary up the play a bit.
Re: Shaw Lane v Barrow Match Thread
No heart. No passion. Looks like a team full of strangers. To make it worse we don’t have a manager with the nerve to tell the players how ridiculously awful they were. Spoke to Paul and Andrew Casson following the game at Bolton services. They were gutted by the performance. Glad to see they’re a bit passionate

It'll all be alright in the morning
Re: Shaw Lane v Barrow Match Thread
Realistically does anyone think he'll be gone tomorrow? Can't see it happening myself think they've wasted too much money hiring and firing already..
Re: Shaw Lane v Barrow Match Thread
The decision rests with them.
After today's debacle it's a non Texan brainetodury??

Re: Shaw Lane v Barrow Match Thread
Our history deserved better today. A club formed out of a hard working locality. These players earn very good wages fora crap 90 minutes. 10 quid a minute for some. !??
Yes they train a few hours a week but let's be honest they are not over working nor mentally stressed. Bleeding doddle.
To wear the shirt and not put a shift in doesn't wash with me. It's an insult to folk present and past who have in the shipyard.
Sack him off mr Casson and recruit.

Got to say that I actually felt sorry for Paul Casson yesterday afternoon. He does not currently have either the flare or a classy laid back style of presenting. He sounded embarrassing throughout the game and was especially bad after Shaw Lane scored their second goal. A poor decision by Radio Cumbria to use him as a summariser.
Having said that, shouting profanities at him during a live broadcast was poor. I am just back from Furness General Hospital and am pumped up with morphine, so say what you like, folks!

Re: Shaw Lane v Barrow Match Thread
Awful. clueless, garbage. I can't be bothered unpicking it.
Except for Jimmy Dunne who gets pass marks.
I was for soldiering on with Moore as changing managers every 5 minutes smells a bit Eastleigh and doesn't help... but they aren't playing for him and he can't motivate them. Paul, you read every word of this forum (which is probably unwise) you need to get rid. It must be possible to have a manager who is tough and honest. MM isn't it.
Good luck to Shaw Lane in the next round
A plague on the footballing Gods.

Re: Shaw Lane v Barrow Match Thread
Think team is probably wrong name as yesterday there wasnt a Barrow team anywhere to be seen on or off pitch.
We do need a leader, ARH contribution was the toss up before game and there doesnt appear to be any communication amongst the players, looked and played like they had just met.
Support, directions etc from dug out not inspiring at all, sorry MM not the man.
Think players also need to take a good look at themselves ,probably best paid any have been at Barrow ,need to earn it...............
Absolutely gutted after game as well.... left my season ticket on the dashboard of my car last night, and some b++t++d has broken into it & left 2 more!;-)

Agreed about being on radio...was if he was being qoaded into saying things at time! He soumded very [SwearFilter] off and tbh.. had a better idea of how to play than mm!! Thats scary! ! Ive always tried to be positive and upbeat but even im starting to feel downtrodden.. aounded awful and just glad my circumstances changed which meant I couldn't go.. you dont mind if there is fight and passion but we rolled over and got taught a lesson by a group of players who desired it morw! Well done shaw lane, hope you get your fairytale run!cheshepe_RL wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 5:58 am Got to say that I actually felt sorry for Paul Casson yesterday afternoon. Hartlepool came back from 1 down at half time to win 2-1 at South Shields. What the manager said:
“Credit to the players for their reaction. I’ve gone in there at half-time, coming across the pitch 20 seconds or so after everyone else and they are already having a right go in there.
“They knew for 20 minutes before the break it wasn’t good enough and we conceded when we were on top. They needed half-time to get together and go again.’’
He added: “We had words at the break, we are all men in there and what is said is taken on the chin and we get on with it.
“A lot was said, a lot was aggressively said and in there you have to accept it. When you aren’t doing your job it’s down to me, my staff and the players to sort it out.
“We don’t want anyone hiding in there. At half-time and in a game it’s not mates – what’s said is said. You get on with it.’’
Can't help suspecting that our players got something more like the Mr Barraclough 'Porridge' treatment.
