This appointment has grown on me, I wasn't overly enthused when I first heard his name mentioned but now its happened and hearing him speak I'm a bit more excited by it.

What concerns me from the above interview though is this idea that they're going to rent a "3 or 4 bedroom flat" somewhere near training and have all the management team living there together. Pennock apparently has an "understanding" wife, but she's going to have to be more than understanding to put up with that long-term! It can be the greatest marriage in the world but surely living at opposite ends of the country is a bit of an issue. Couple that with the fact that it sounds like his assistant and coaching staff are going to be in the same boat, is that really going to work? 3 or 4 middle-aged men sharing a flat together, miles away from home and their families. Its an odd setup and it does concern me slightly.

I know, but those blokes you talk about usually work away all week then go home at weekends. Often cramming all their work into 4 days then getting a long weekend at home. That isn't an option for a football manager who has training all week, preparing and travelling with the team on a Friday then a match on a Saturday. His wife might get the odd Sunday out of him if she's lucky.

Additionally, using the same analogy. If one of those contractors was offered a similar job, similar terms but much closer to home and their families would they take it? More than likely. So assuming Pennock does well with us, what happens when a decent job further south comes up?

Plenty of that happening all over Barrow atm Kieran with contractors at the yard. Did it myself for years while travelling. Saying that, i did end up divorved

I thought exactly the same as keiran when listening to the above, he will probably get a Sunday at home at best or maybe the odd Saturday night if playing down that way, not at all trying to put a dampener on things but not an ideal logistical situation

I have never heard AC speak before for any length of time. Trying to be neutral about it on that basis, bearing in mind all that’s happened, I have to say I was quite impressed.
Above all he was calm and unflustered. The questions were ok and largely relevant, and he didn’t do the politician thing and fail to answer them. He gave the impression of being sincere. He may be naive and inexperienced from a raw football point of view, but he’s clearly bright, so let’s hope he’s a fast learner.
I know it’s only a 15 minute interview, and it’s on the back of a new manger with decent credentials, but it put me on him rather than off him. We all know it’s work in progress.

Good interview but words need to be put into deeds,forgive his slip up that Adi is now on board but does he realise we have had alot walk the plank.
Let's hope he improves us that much that a bigger club comes in for him.
The logistics should be put to one side for now,but in time may become a problem

I would agree with that. As someone who is yet to be convinced by AC's involvement, I was pleasantly surprised by that interview and much more impressed than I thought I would be.

Fair point, maybe it depends what you're used to and if his wife is used to him being away from home for long periods maybe its not as big an issue as I think. I do still have my reservations on it though.
