Probably has something to do with the mandatory notice period.

Cassons must think the Barrow fans so fickle, they've gone from zero to hero with one signing. Too many staff have been taking the pee and they've had to sort them out which will have taken up so much of their time, stopping them from putting the effort in elsewhere.

That makes little sense.

Just a few points:
1) Barrow fans are fickle, just like fans of most clubs.
2) What the [SwearFilter] does the rest of that mean?

Statement on Kings Lynn FC website:

Grant Holt departs King’s Lynn Town Football Club.
November 4, 2017
It’s just been confirmed by King’s Lynn Town Chairman Stephen Cleeve following this afternoon’s 1-0 defeat to Chesham United that Grant Holt has departed the football club to join Barrow as player/coach.

Cleeve said “We had a phone call from Barrow on Monday to say that Grant’s agent had done a deal with Barrow as a player coach, I’m upset to see Grant leave the football club, I’m shocked more than anything at the moment as I’m yet to speak to him.

“I wanted Grant to stay at the football club, I’m deeply upset, It’s a blow to the town and the football club.

Fantastic news all round this. Positivity is flowing around the club. This along with the acquisition of the new manager shows the Cassons mean business. Get innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

He was my choice as manager, purely for the boost it gives us - to have him back AND with an experienced manager in place, it could hardly have gone better!

No qualms about us screwing over Kings Lynn - he was non-contract and we've put in the seven day approach. They can rightly be annoyed with Holt, as he's clearly given them assurances he'd be there for the season, but seems Barrow have gone about things the right way.

So, whose place is he taking in the squad?

If the reports are right that he's coming in as player/coach, he won't take anyones place in the squad. He'll be classed as part of the management team i'd imagine.
