We did try all this by all accounts and there were a few other factors that o do with time AP etc could get here I believe.McMark wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2017 11:11 pmI get that the club want to milk the recent events for all its worth, especially with the feel good factor surrounding the club building momentum. But surely there can be a compromise here by tweeking the timing a little both ways, even if that's a 18:30 start for the Q&A and delaying the start of the Race Night until 20:30 then everyone gets the best of both worlds.barrowaberdeen wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2017 10:38 pm Disappointing but just one of those things. The club understandably want to strike while the iron's hot but we can't move the time or venue of the Race Night at this notice as a) We've a commitment to The Ambrose who have arranged staff etc and do a lot for us too and b) Other people who aren't as involved so much in the club are coming and you owe it to them to keep arrangements the same.
Hopefully both evenings can still be a success. I'm sure some folk involved in the Race Night will spend a short while in the Q and A first, equally it would be great of once that's finished and folk fancied another pint in a different place and a bet in a good cause, they could wander down to the Ambrose.
I hope the Q and A is a success and to see some of you in the Brose at some point.
All Barrow etc

Re: Manager Q & A
As Steve mentions Mark, this was suggested but the answer I had was that by the time Ady, Grant & Lindsay arrive, get something to eat etc the earliest time possible would be 7:00pm.McMark wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2017 11:11 pmI get that the club want to milk the recent events for all its worth, especially with the feel good factor surrounding the club building momentum. And from the Trust POV, there's simply been too much time & effort go into this time/date by the lads involved (and the Ambrose) to alter anything.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

So the club organise a Q&A when a core of the more vocal and perhaps vociferous supporters would be otherwise engaged? That's got conspiracy written all over it - so over to you Pedro - our man on the grassy knoll...

YES ITS CALLED A TAXI
Re: Manager Q & A
Thanks for the explanations chaps!!!
I'm sure if Grant and a few others could come and join those trying to generate a bit of revenue for such a worthy cause. even for just an hour. Then all would be forgiven, especially if they brought their wallets with them.
Now that would be compromise!!!

And if they then want to pop down to the quiz I am hosting at the Red River then we would welcome them also.

That would be great if the "team" could pop down to the Ambrose for a guest appearance after the Q and A.McMark wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2017 10:46 am Thanks for the explanations chaps!!!

From this statement I deduce that Grant Holt has either already signed,or a done deal...Or is Grant Holt visiting Holker Street on Friday in a different capacity to that of Barrow's new player coach?spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2017 8:41 amAs Steve mentions Mark, this was suggested but the answer I had was that by the time Ady, Grant & Lindsay arrive, get something to eat etc the earliest time possible would be 7:00pm.McMark wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2017 11:11 pm

Grant will be part of the management team that travel up every Friday before a home game. They stay over so they don't travel on the Saturday.mr_grey wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2017 5:17 pmFrom this statement I deduce that Grant Holt has either already signed,or a done deal...Or is Grant Holt visiting Holker Street on Friday in a different capacity to that of Barrow's new player coach?spirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 08, 2017 8:41 am
