What on earth would lead anybody to believe that Barrow are currently a stronger team or club than Woking or Maidstone?Mark Johnson wrote: ↑Wed Apr 11, 2018 9:38 am I was thinking about Guiseley last night actually as I was drifting off to sleep.
Surely, they know they are relegated now so their focus will probably already be on getting things in to place for next year. With that being said, would they want a (in theory) strong Barrow in their league next season - yet another team who should be up there.
It favours them for us to stay up and for the likes of Woking / Maidstone to go down.
So will they try and do us and them a favour by dropping a few main men for our game next Tuesday?

I was thinking about Guiseley last night actually as I was drifting off to sleep.

Yes my point was barrow would join guisley in the CN but none of the other 2 would. And whether barrow are strong now or not is not the point and whether barrow will be a force or not next season whichever division we are in, is another debate.
Re: Guiseley
Rubbish. Imagine yourself in a dressing room. Right lads were going to throw todays game so we get relegated but at least we wont be playing Barrow next season. Codswallop

I said before I don't expect them to 'throw' it.. I'm just saying the squad might be rotated (with or without next season in mind).

Re: Guiseley
Anyone know what sort of state the Guiseley pitch is in?
I can't help noticing that four full days of cricket were lost to a waterlogged outfield at Headingley, not a million miles from Guiseley, this weekend.

Re: Guiseley
Don't know whether he's injured or not but he hasn't been in the team for the last couple of matches. In fact, none of our 3 former players at Guiseley - Harvey, Hughes and Howarth - were in the team or the subs list on Saturday. In fact, looking through their list of players, Hughes seems to have disappeared from it.
Re: Guiseley
Hughes is at billericay now which might explain one of them

Re: Guiseley
I also didn't realise that Paul Cox had been sacked by Guiseley in February. At least that is what his Wiki profile says and also the Guiseley site has the manager and assistant managers shown as vacant!

Sean St Ledger has been caretaker player manager since Cox left.russell_anderson wrote: ↑Mon Apr 16, 2018 5:22 pm I also didn't realise that Paul Cox had been sacked by Guiseley in February. Re: Guiseley
Not likely if he doesn't pick them! Harvey last appeared in the team on March 17th, was an unused sub in the next match and hasn't even made the subs bench since then. Haworth last appeared on the subs bench on February 17th. It seems as though the new manager didn't have as high opinion of our former players as did Paul Cox!!

Re: Guiseley
As someone on here called Cox the best manager in this league on many occasion I guess that they don’t have what it takes to have his vision & foresightrussell_anderson wrote: ↑Mon Apr 16, 2018 11:18 pmNot likely if he doesn't pick them!
