What is it about playoff finals? They are always epic. That is a massive effort from Tranmere. Great game.

Even an F word from the bloke who got sent off ha ha. Literally a game that had everything.

Lincoln v Exeter certainly wasn't a great game. One team (Lincoln) doing nothing more than hoofing the ball up to Fat Matt Rhead and the other (Exeter) trying to play a bit of football but without having the players capable of doing it although to be fair to them the Lincoln pitch, I suspect, is prepared for the football they play as it is pretty bumpy.

Yes, well done Tranmere. It's sobering to think how long it has taken them to get back to Div 2 in spite of their fan base and resources.

Yep that’s the biggest side in the league gone up. A performance by a a side totally playing for each other and they fully deserved the win. Will be interesting to see if McNulty stays with them. Out of contract I believe, but still a fantastic centre half.

They need to think about the pricing for the play off finals with attendance of 16000 - would have liked Tranmere to stay down but having watched the game they deserved it

Love to see us at a play off final to go back to the football league that would be quite something

2016, Grimsby beat FGR. 2017, FGR beat Tranmere. 2018, Tranmere beat Boreham Wood. 2019, Boreham Wood beat ? And so on ......

I think the play offs at every level should be played at the highest league placed team. Not a fan of Wembley for these games. Too big a venue.

I have to say, i wanted Borehamwood to win until their [SwearFilter] fans started throwing bottles, Tranmere all the way after that.

The game was virtually all about Tranmere. It was a good watch but I have to say that Bhamwood were actually desperately poor and totally unable to apply any continuous pressure even at 1-1 and with an extra man for the entire game.

Thought the sending off seemed to wrong foot Bhamwood who probably had started with a game plan based around hitting Tranmere on the break. The Bhamwood goal came from one of the few pieces of quick passing that they managed to muster. They then seemed to opt for the long containing game with the expectation that Tranmere would eventually tire having only 10 outfield players and 3 subs on by half-time.

This may have worked if they could have got Tranmere into extra time, but ignored a key facet of playing at Wembley - viz its a very big wide pitch and if you play containing football you'll always leave space against quick and determined opponents who themselves had by now accepted the motivational mantle of "underdogs". So although they were gifted a man advantage opportunity on a plate they failed miserably to tactically exploit the situation. You could almost see Luke Garrard's halo become increasingly tarnished as the game wore on.

Fair play to Tranmere. They should not be in this Division and have now earned their way out. As for Bhamwood, whether they can repeat this experience may depend on whether they have enough clout to retain their key players who will have been on display during the play-offs. Teams like Bhamwood rarely get a second chance. They may regret not giving it their best shot.
